Bath Time with Beanie

Beanie loves his bath time.   I do, too.   We splash.   We kick.   We pee in the water.   Its a great time.   And I love the minutes afterwards, too.   When he’s clean and smiley and good to snuggle.

But maybe the absolute best part of bath time is playing with Beanie’s hair.   Its one of the great things about having a baby with a head full of hair.

All that hair provides endless hours of entertainment.

And an endless supply of embarrassing pictures to break out when Beanie brings a girl home to meet us one day.

Poor Beanie.   Pictures last a lifetime, Little Buddy.

Just ask your father.

There is nothing better than the smell of a baby. Especially a nice, clean, just-out-of-the-tub baby. I think I can smell Beanie right through these photos!:)

But let’s get to the serious stuff….WHAT exactly is that on Chris’ head?! Was he getting highlights or something?!

    • Katie

I was giving him highlights which, in his defense, were cool when we were 15. This is just one more blaring example of why you should never marry your high school sweetheart. They’ve got too many years of dirt on you!! – Katie

He’s looking more and more like his dad everyday! I remember when I was little, I would get out of the bath and my mom would wrap me in a towel and rock me like a baby. I was like 6 so I would be giggling like, well, a little girl. But it was my favorite. Bath time with mommy is the best!

Wow daddy has a lot of explaining to do to the Ben about those pictures of him. (daddy pic’s) I love to play with their hair too its so much fun!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the pics!! My husband is the one who likes to brush our son’s hair after his bath. He is just now getting enough to actually ‘style’ at 7 months.

    Heyya Sweets,
Just have to say, even though you get it all the time, your Beanie is the most precious thing! He is so cute its hard to stop looking at the pics!
Seriously, I can feel my ovaries aching and screaming at me to attempt to make one of those little human things 🙂
Love your posts. So honest and real.
    Keep up the good work!

Yeah just when you think you finally have things under control… they change. I love bath time. Thats Zachs responsibility. Thats where him and Presley bond. Since I do a ton of bonding with her during the day. I only wish she had more hair. Why is it that boys always have more hair the baby girls? boo.

I love the hair! My little guy hasn’t lost his hair yet, but it’s pretty stubbornly growing in one direction (well, two, the front lays flat and the back goes straight up. We had to take passport photos and he looked like a little devil with two horns growing up).

    Hi Katie:

Bean is very cute and I love reading your updates, but…I have an obnoxious comment. I think you’re over-masculinizing him by emphasizing his future interest in girls and sports, etc. What if he’s gay and never does bring a girlfriend home? What if he has no interest in sports? Stereotyping a child like that can be harmful to their sense of self. I know you guys are from the south where attitudes towards gender roles can be a bit conservative. Also, I think you may just be saying those things for comic effect. Will you make comments to him about bringing girls home when he’s old enough to understand you?

    • Katie

Dude. I would totally support Beanie if he was into men. I just can’t get him to put down his remote control, put on some pants, stop farting, and get in touch with his feminine side. – Katie

  • Sarah

Bahaha, he’s so unaware of how humiliating he’ll find all of this when he’s a teenager. Hehehe.

I agree with laura, you have to find one of those hooded baby towels. They are the cutest thing on the planet.

  • Ashley

Haha that picture of Chris was hilarious! The bean has to be the cutest baby I have ever seen! I love those little fat cheeks he has!

  • Dude!

Abby, lighten up! Katie’s funny and using humor in this instance. I’m sure she’s not implanting white supremist ideas into his head. Geez. I’m from the south and I’m offended by her comments.

Sorry Katie, somebody had to say something.

    • Carlene

I second this! I’m from Florida too and my friends and family and I are are so ANTI-gender role, they’re scandalized by the fact that I’m even getting married. We don’t use gender-specific colors or toys, but we do talk about “our son’s future wife”.

Katie is using light-hearted comments in jest. If Beanie wasn’t getting them here, he’d be getting it from EVERYONE ELSE in his life.

  • Janet

Honestly, I never say this – mainly because I still believe my boys were the CUTEST babies every born – But my goodness, your son is AH-DORABLE! Enjoy him… All too soon he’ll be all grown up and you’ll be missing him!

PS – Is Abby for real? Good Lord!
