What the Hell is a Pee Pee Tee Pee

One of the challenges of being a new parent is trying to figure out all of the baby stuff.   So, when someone gave me a pack of five things called “pee pee tee pees,” I had a hell of a time coming up with how to use them.

Are they tiny ear muffs?

Or maybe goggles for the tanning bed?

I don’t know.   That can’t be right.   You can’t put babies in tanning beds, can you?

Could they be tiny hats?

Maybe.   With the right outfit…   No.   Probably not.

Well, could they possibly be…

Nope.   I’m POSITIVE that’s not what they’re for.   But, thanks, Chris.

OH!   I bet I know what a Pee Pee Tee Pee is used for!!   I tried to get Chris to model, but he drew the line.   He doesn’t draw lines very often.   But he looked pretty serious about this particular line, so I had to find another model.

You don’t hear Winnie complaining, do you, Chris?

TA DA!   This is a Pee Pee Tee Pee!   And while it might seem small and insignificant, you just try changing a baby boy’s diaper one time and accidentally yawning and getting sprayed in the mouth like a kid in the sprinkler.   Suddenly a Pee Pee Tee Pee is pretty darn valuable.

So is mouthwash.

Now, can’t you sleep better at night knowing what a Pee Pee Tee Pee is?   I know I can.

Love it! I imagined them being hard plastic- you know, easy to clean. But these look nice and soft.

I’ve always said that when I got pregnant I wouldn’t find out the sex of my baby until it’s born. But if I do that, nobody will know if they need to give me pee pee tee pee’s as a shower gift or not! haha

Someone bought us a wee block, and I’m sorry, but it’s HUGE! It covers more than enough on my little man. Hilarious. The peepeeteepee looks much more proportionate.

I would just cover my son with a folded up burp cloth when I changed him. This was back in ’97 though. I had never heard of pee pee tee pees back then. I don’t even know if they made them in ’97.

I think you guys had too much fun working on this post…
Very funny. I had never heard of those either. My son peed in my hair quite early on. I had leaned over to hush him because he was crying so hard as I changed his diaper (oh, how he hated cold wipes), and suddenly felt that warm spray in my hair…never in the mouth though. I armed myself with a wipe or cloth every time after that, and I got a wipe warmer. It was worth it. 🙂

  • Miss M!

I bought some because I thought the name was funny and ended up LOVING them. So did my husband, who, for some reason, got peed on a whole lot more often than I did.

Hmmmm…very interesting! I have to agree with Christina it looks like you guys had way too much fun trying to figure them out. :)Great pictures! I think they make great ear muffs!

    its a little disturbing that the little tee pee’s have airplanes on them….airplanes with propellers…propellers that have been known to effortlessly sever peoples limbs. {laugh}

I was given a package of these for my baby shower and they made me laugh so hard. It is certainly an original idea however I found I never used them… I only had one incident and thankfully it wasnt in the mouth… I guess i shoud have kept my pee pee tee pees handy.

Shortly after P was born I found something similar at Babies R Us. It was a little different and it cost something like $9 freakin’ dollars for ONE. I decided to take my chances, but the ones you have seem like something I would buy.

You two are to much!!! I would LOVE to spend an evening in your home…I would be LMAO. 😉
I have never heard of a pee pee tee pee. My son is 21 now so maybe they didn’t make such things back then.
Awesome thing to have now that pee pee didn’t make such a wonderful mouth wash!

HAHAHA! I noticed this on your top mommy list the other day and looked it up b/c I had never heard of them. I laughed so hard in my office that my co-workers all came in to see what was wrong. I have a friend expecting a boy and she is definitely receiving some as a gift! It’s just too funny and random!

Speaking of awesome baby stuff. Someone told me about this and I have wanted to tell you about it. It’s called the boon spoon http://www.booninc.com/products/Squirt

I have a 7.5 month old daughter. We started solids when she was 6 months and I use this thing every day! Check it out.

I love your blog. It is so fun to read what another new mom is going through.

OOOOOOhhhhhh, that’s what they are, lol. It’s about darn time, too! I remember when my little brother was born (I was about 6)he sprayed my mother all over her eyeglasses. I was thrilled and appalled at the same time, as you might guess. 34 years later I still remember it. Pee pee tee pees. I’m definitely getting those for the next baby shower I go to. Happily, it’s too late for me (And my Mom) 😀 And your post is hilarious, by the way. I ~really~ enjoy your blog, you’re moving up on my bookmark list!

I have got to say (even a little late!) that these are the best things to get if you have a little boy! Now, the one thing I would LOVE to figure out… how to keep said little boy from wiggling around just enough so the tee pee slips and you end up in shamu’s splash zone.

  • Kate

haha I showed my sister those in a baby store and she basically had a laughing fit and then said if I have a boy that was going to be the first thing she was going to buy for me.
