Binkie Man, Binkie Man

“Beanie,” I said.   “Do you really need that binkie?”

“What binkie?   I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“You know what I’m talking about, Beanie,” I said.   “I think you can live without the binkie for a while.”

“Wait!” he said.   “Wait!   Just five more minutes, Mom!”

“Mom!!   WAIT!!   Not yet!!   I need my binkie!!”

“Beanie,” I said.   “I think you’ll be fine without it.   You’re a big dude.   You can hang out without the binkie for a while.   And you know I’ll give it back to you when its time to go to sleep tonight.”

“Ohhhh…. I don’t know, Mom….” Beanie said.

“Well, how about this,” I said.   “You go without your binkie for a while and I’ll let you snooze in my bed for a little while this afternoon.”

“Hmm….” said Beanie.   “Your bed is awfully soft and fluffy.”

“Alright, Mom.   Its a deal.”

“Deal,” I said.

“ZZZzzzzz….”
