You Know You Wanna Know…

I am probably to nosiest person I know. I don’t necessarily want the gossip so much as I just want to know what’s in people’s purses. Or how much money is in someone’s bank account. I just think its interesting how other people live their lives. And I’m going out on a limb here in assuming that if you are a blog reader, then you must get a kick out of knowing those little insider tips, too.

Today on Marriage Confessions, we’re going to play a little game that feeds the inner busy bodies we all have. Below are a series of polls. The answers are anonymous and even I can’t tell who answers what.   Answer what questions apply to you and be honest.

Okay, here we go…

Very fun! I went to vote but it told me that I had already voted, and I most certainly have not! Bummer. Who’s been on my computer voting for me?? ::Looks at cat:: Oh man that’s going to be some interesting answers!

Okay- you have to do this more. Very interesting! Ask more about parenting style- I love to see how people raise their kiddos (and what works!)!

  • Niki

Even though the voting is anonymous, I’m going to confess that I voted “Yes” in the “Do you think love is enough in a marriage?” poll. The reason being that I believe love includes many things – trust, respect, support, affection, putting your spouse first, honesty, etc.

    1) The babysitting question depends. If the child is asleep, I would pay $13 – $15. If the child was awake, I would pay more.

    2) 38% of voters only wash their hands after bathrooming if they remember???? How do you forget something like that????

    3) I wish I knew what “TBD” meant on the naughty or nice question.

Also, Katie, I love this blog. Thank you for writing!

7% NEVER wash their hands after using the bathroom?? 37% only do it sometimes?? Good heavens, perhaps you need to do a post on a benefits of basic hygiene!

  • Miss M!

I’m nosy too – one of my favorite things is when people leave their blinds open at night. I’m not so much interested in what they’re doing, but more in how they arranged their furniture and what is hanging on the walls. I’m the boringest peeping Tom ever.

You would have loved that at my shower we played a game involving all the junk in our purses. I had the weirdest item (a strapless bra, c’mon, very useful!), but my sister-in-law DEMOLISHED everyone in terms of sheer quantity of crap. She had like 10 lip glosses/sticks alone!

It wouldn’t let me vote on all of them either…oh snap.

My mother and I both thought I was the nosiest person alive!! 😉 I just find it very interesting also how people live their lives. How they do things, how often they do things, why they do things.
LOVE this post! Wished I could have voted on all of them.

I couldn’t vote, it kept saying that I’d already voted. But that didn’t stop me from reading the answers =)

I have two opinions here. First, I wish more people washed their hands. And second, I love that so many other people aren’t giving gifts. My husband and I can’t afford it, but even if we could, we try to celebrate the holidays by volunteering and spending time with family as opposed to giving gifts. I hate to cheer on the bad economy, but this is the first year in a long time that we haven’t stuck out, and it’s nice.

i could only vote on the first one! after that, the other polls said i had already voted, but i hadn’t. if they start cooperating with my computer, i’ll come back and try to vote again so you can have some more juicy answers!

I too got the “you already voted” msg for most of them. Can I say I’m TOTALLY shocked that 20% of ppl voting have $10,000 in savings? I barely have a savings, and it’s only due to the tax return fairy, and even then it’s VERY hard to not spend it all immediately.

I also have to disagree with Niki on the marriage/love question. Not all ppl have the definition of love that you listed. It would seem logical to us, but it’s not. My husband, for example, doesn’t really do the self sacrifice, put others first thing. But, he didn’t have any male role models for that. Also, somethings are obvious, but in practice they are more difficult. Like not being selfish. As a mother of 4 small kids and a former “i’m not selfish” claimer, I realize how wrong I was. I just didn’t really have anything to test me on it. Now, NOW, Oh, now I do.
