I’m happy to announce that starting today, I am the new Relationship Expert for the Southern Weddings Magazine blog.
Go ahead and laugh for a minute. I’ll wait.
I know, relationship expert? I was thrown by that title, too, but what I hope it will come to mean is someone who helps others grow in their relationships while still growing in my own. The monthly column will run on the SW website and will be a question and answer format about the early years of a marriage.
Now, I’m sure I don’t have to tell all of you how intimidating this position is for me, so I’d love to see some familiar faces over at SW.com today. Come on by and give a shout out. And, if you’ve got one, leave a question that I can answer for next month’s column.

15) Melissa: OMG! I just read your first post at Southern Weddings, and I loved it. I've been reading your column for a little over a year now (my employer thanks you for the downturn in productivity) and I just got engaged this fall. The wedding is planned for June and we registered this past Saturday. I thought it was going to be a perfect day. Me and my sweetie... picking out stuff for our new life. Sure. Right. We still have no china pattern and I had a meltdown in front of the food processors when he told me that his favorite color IS green, he just doesn't want any green on the plates. (Is he color blind? His kitchen is green! What color did he think we would have?) So thank you. It could be worse. You had to deal with Star Wars cookie jars and you're still married. (02.02.2010 03:10pm)
