(Psst€¦ Fabulous Facebook Friday Giveaway is Coming€¦)

So, I’m just letting all of you in on a little secret.

Not THAT secret.  I’ll tell you THAT secret in a couple weeks.

This little secret is a lot more fun because you can actually WIN something.  And winning is all there is to life.  Winning and Diet Dr. Pepper.  And Girl Scout cookies.

Speaking of which, where are mine?  I ordered them weeks ago!  Don’t they know they are dealing to a junkie?  Girl Scouts of America need to step up here and get on my Samoas deeee-livered.  I ate the very last box of my order from last year just last week.  Don’t be grossed out.  Be impressed.  I ration my cookies so perfectly in our freezer that I can stretch them from one cookie season to the next.

But I digress.

The secret today is that on Friday, we will have the first ever Fabulous Facebook Friday Giveaway!  This giveaway will be done ONLY on the Marriage Confessions Facebook Group, so you have to be a fan to participate.  Luckily, becoming a Facebook Fan is as easy as CLICKING HERE and joining the group.  Then, on Friday, I’ll post one giveaway question to the fan page and you enter by leaving a comment to that question.  Got it?  Good.

So, start planning ahead by becoming an MC Facebook Fan right now and then wait for the insider question on Friday.  Its gonna be good…

    I. love. Samoas. Although I love the fact that they are called “Caramel De-lites” a bit less. I also hoard and freeze them to last the whole year through. It makes me so happy!

Ha! My roommate from college does exactly the same thing with girl scout cookies! Six boxes of thin mints in the freezer to get through a year. My planning (and willpower) skills are not up to the task.

Hi Katie!! I just caught up (just NOW) on your blog! I went all the way back to the beginning…no I’m not creepy, just thorough 🙂 It took me 3 weeks!

I work at Yale so it’s fun to hear about some of the places you go, like Lyman Orchard! I’m also a transplant to New Haven. I wish I could live outside the city…that’s all I’m sayin.

I love your blog and just wanted to thank you for putting your life on the web 🙂 fascinating

It is actually Girl Scouts USA – it’s the Boy Scouts that are ‘of America’…. sorry but as an ex-Girl Scout trainer that one always gets me.

The cookies last forever in the freezer – but this is the first year that nobody came to my house to sell them. Guess I’ll have to track them down when they are outside of the grocery store…

I just ordered cookies from my favorite girl scout! Six boxes is what we got – Samoas (2), PB patties, the PB sandwich cookies, lemon somethings, and something else – all tasty, I’m sure. For my baby shower, a dear family friend brought homemade PB patties. A sandwich made of peanut butter and Ritz crackers enrobed in dark chocolate. For sass, she slapped a squiggle of white chocolate on the top. HEAVEN. I’ve had a box of Ritz crackers in my pantry ever since Nate was born to try to recreate the goodness…hope they’re still good nearly nine months later…

Katie, a friend of my shared a recipe for the best homemade thin mint girl scout cookies. They taste like the real thing, believe me I wouldn’t lead you astray. If you’re interested in the recipe let me know….ok, I don’t know if it can even be considered a recipe. You only need two (possibly 3) items:

    Homemade Thin Mints
-Nilla waffers (I’m not usually a name brand type of girl but with these the generic brands just don’t cut it).
-Andies mint pieces (or you can take regular chocolate and mix peppermint oil with it, that would be the third ingredient).

Melt the andies (add a little oil if you are using the microwave, that way the chocolate won’t seize up). Dip the nilla waffers in the chocolate. Let them dry on wax paper. It’s so easy.

Now you won’t have to ration, you can add extra pounds to your booty all year round instead of just a month out of the year.

They are one of my fav kinds too. And the tagalongs and the thin mints. Of course the boxes are shrinking and costing more money now. I hate how that happens. Mom to teenagers so even if I put them in the freezer they find them. One year I put the boxes in a cardboard box so you couldn’t tell what they where. After about 5 months the oldest got smart and findlay said what the heck is this card board box in the freezer??? “I yell DO NOT OPEN THAT” I guess I sounded desprate, because he found the goods:( Anyone got any new ideas for me on where to hide them this year?

I used to be a Girl Scout until I graduated high school, lol. Now, I stopped selling cookies nd going to ‘meetings’, but still… they’re a good group. *lol*

I’m more of a Tagalong kind girl, my husband is into Samoas – he actually ordered five boxes the other day at work. I ahte to tell him that they won’t last very long, and it’d be easier to just order a case. *lol*
