A Year of Motherhood in Pictures: Time Flies When You’re Having Fun

That first month was all about survival in our house, but by the second and third month Bean Man opened his little eyeballs and started to really take in his new home.
And I think he actually liked us!
He sure thought we were funny.
I know we thought he was funny, too. Especially when he took naps on our couch in his super hero cape.
When Bean was three months old, I went back to work. And it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.
But every day I came home from work and treasured those hours I had in the evening with Bean.
And on the weekends Bean and I did our chores together.
By that Fall, Bean was rolling around all over the place.
And by Halloween he was even starting to sit up on his own a little bit. (Of course, the dinosaur tail helped with balance...)
Around this time we tried baby food for the first time.
It didn't go well.
It never went well.
So I started making all of Bean's baby food myself.
And mealtime became a lot less stressful.
Outside of the kitchen, Bean was having a rootin' tootin' time and he was growing up so quickly. By November, I was starting to see some of the baby fat melt away and Bean started to look more and more like a big boy.
But he was still my baby.
In early December we took Bean to meet the Pioneer Woman and he cried while we took this blury picture with her.
At Christmas we had him baptised in the church where Chris and I were married. And I cried.
And a few days later Santa Claus came and brought Bean new big boy toys. And I cried again.

One last installment of today’s Mother’s Day blogging blitz is left!  Be sure to check back this afternoon…
