When Dad’s Don’t Share

“Whoa, Dad,” said Bean.  “There’s something sticking out of your mouth.  Here, let me get it for you.”

“Oh, that’s my lollipop,” said Chris.

“What’s a lollipop?” asked Bean.

“Its a piece of candy on a stick.  They taste pretty good.  This one is watermelon flavored.”

“OH!” said Bean.  “I love watermelon!  Let me try it!”

“No way!” said Chris.  “This one is mine.”

“But Dad!!!

“Here, try your own,” said Chris.  “Just don’t tell your mom.”

“What do I do with it?” asked Bean.

“You put it in your mouth, like this,” explained Chris.

“Oh, wow,” said Bean.  “This is gooooood.”

“Do ours taste the same?” asked Bean.

“Yep,” said Chris.  “We both have watermelon flavored lollipops.”

“I don’t know,” said Bean.  “Maybe I should taste yours, too, just to make sure.”

“No way, dude!” said Chris.  “You’ve got your own!”

“Oh, fine,” said Bean.

Even though I still think yours might taste better than mine…” Bean whispered under his breath.

“Oh, Bean…”
