These Cheeks Are Gonna Kill Me

Bean grows like an inchworm.  He gets pudgy and fat and then he stretches out.  Then he gets pudgy and fat and then he stretches out.  It’s pretty much awesome.  My favorites are the pudgy and fat stages, which is what he’s in right now.

Now I ask you, how am I supposed to get anything done with these mushy cheeks laying around?

Everybody knows that mushy cheeks have to be pinched and poked and kissed and nibbled on or else they’ll grow to gargantuan proportions and Bean’s head would just topple right over under the weight of them.

Which means that it is my parental responsibility to gnaw on them and blubber them and poke them with my finger.   It’s for the well-being of my child, you see.

Yes, I do love the cheek nibbling stage of Bean’s growth.  Though, I do continue to check and see if he’s lengthening out any.

Nothing happening south of the knee caps lately though. Other than the unfortunate arrival of some cankles.  Don’t worry.  I’ve begun to nibble on those, too, and should have them back to their normal size in no time.

For now though, I’m focusing all my maternal attention on these cheeks.  They need me.  Really.  They do.

Oooh those are just the best bits! Thighs are good, and you get more meat on those too, much more nibbly’ness. You are doing a good job Mum.

I know! We call the get up the “double monkey”, bc it’s a monkey wearing a monkey. 🙂

The shorts are what caght my eye. Even though I tried to talk him out of it at the store, my husband has the exact same pair…

Aw, yeah. Baby-nibbling is awesome. You’re lucky to have one hanging around at your house that you can nibble on any time. My boyfriend is still scared of babies (he thinks their skin is TOO soft? weirdo!), and the whole we’re-not-married thing is a problem too, so I have to borrow a baby when I want to squish and love on ’em. Luckily about 10 of my coworkers have friendly babies!

My son is in a stretch out phase right now. I feel like he is growning an inch every day, though really he isn’t. Enjoy the pudgy cheeks. And the thunder thighs…lol.

I have to say (in a completely non creepy way..) our children would make the cutest chubby cheeked babies. I too nibble on Adehlei’s cheeks..it’s impossible not to! The cheeks, thunder thighs (not sure if Bean received those), cankles, wrists so chubby that they look like Barbie hands that were screwed onto Barbie arms. Oh the insanity!

OMG! Too adorable… I’m so glad you’ve taken the time to notice those cheeks. You know what’s funny? No matter how old they get..whenever they’re asleep, you will always see those cute cheeks in your mind’s eye. My girls and 16 and 9…and when I see them as they sleep, I can still see those cute little baby faces from so long ago.

ps…i’ve also decided that God makes babies cute so that you’ll fall so deeply in love with them and therefore not throttle them when they’re teenagers 🙂

I could nibble right through this computer screen to those cheeks 🙂 Consider yourself lucky that you get to nibble them right back down to size :):)
