Stocking Stuffer Idea: Ring Holder

This week I got the Anthropologie winter catalog.  Which means I immediately ran to my bedroom like a little girl, climbed in my bed under all the covers, and flipped through every single page, devouring everything I couldn’t afford.

What I love about Anthropologie is that nestled in between their expensive clothes, jewelry, accessories, and other fun things are little, affordable finds.  You just have to look closely for them.  And this catalog didn’t disappoint.

There on one of the pages were the most adorable ring or jewelry dishes.  For $10!!

2dishes

Look how cute and simple these little dishes are! I love the dog one, personally. But I’m a dog person. It looks like Lucy fell into White Out, shrunk to tiny proportions, and then climbed up in a porcelain dish. I love it!

doggy

But if you’re not a dog person, look at this little bunny dish. So sweet and girly. Bunnies just make me smile.

Except for that one bunny that I had when I was growing up. Did I ever tell you about that bunny? He was a jack rabbit and I won him at the county fair by throwing a ping pong ball into a tiny goldfish bowl. I hated that bunny. His name was Ping Pong and he was mean and fast. He used to get out of his cage and I could never catch him. Or, if I did catch him, he’d bite me.

Bastard bunny.

Anyway, THIS is not THAT bunny. This is a sweet, white, porcelain bunny that looks over your rings and things while you sleep at night. Everyone needs a bunny like that.

I think these sweet little dishes make great stocking stuffers for Christmas presents. Or, if you’re as broke as I am, they make great BIG gifts, too!

Now, what fun would it be to show you these pretty, cute little things without GIVING you one of them? So, to be entered to win the ring dish of your choice, leave a comment telling me what store you’re doing most of your Christmas shopping in this year. The giveaway will close Thursday at 8:00 PM EST and a winner will be announced on Friday.

Good luck!

P.S.  This is not a paid advertisement. I bought this product with my own pennies which I dug out from my own couch cushions.  Amen.

Most of my shopping was done at Vera for the girls in my famly. They had the best deals there this year!

  • Jordan

wow, I can’t beleive you bought this with your own money. As a reader of your blog, I feel very loved 🙂

Most of my shopping is done at target or just general Amazon.

  • Ashley

Most of my shopping will probably be done in a Walmart/Target-type store. Decent stuff at good prices! Let’s hope. 🙂

  • Kara Mull

My grandmother had a swan ring holder in the window sill about her kitchen sink. Many years have I watched her remove her rings before she started cooking. I never thought about one for myself. Wat a fantastic idea.

WE did most of our toy shopping at two places, so it’s a tie between Toys R us, and Amazon.com

  • Cristina L-S

I’m doing most of my shopping on Amazon. I’m hoping to avoid the mall as much as possible. It’s fun to get packages delivered to my door. 🙂

  • Heather in NY

Those are so cute! Like some of the other posters, I have been doing most of my shopping at Amazon or Target. Almost everyone I know is getting a Kindle for Christmas this year, so lots of people are getting Amazon gift cards for the Kindle books.

  • Catherine

Much to my own chagrin, most of my shopping came from Amazon. While I miss the actual shopping, it was just far more practical with a one-year-old! To make up for it, though, I tried to do the rest of my shopping at smaller, niche stores.

  • Amy @ Serve At Once

Most of my shopping will probably be done on Amazon.com. I can do it in the comfort of my PJ’s and I have a Prime membership, so no shipping costs. Plus, comparing prices on the Net is quick and easy, and some things (like books!) are great to buy at used prices.

  • Ali

I haven’t done all of my shopping in any one place… parents at a silent auction, boyfriend online, and have yet to find something for my sister. The Byward Market here in Ottawa ON is normally my go-to shopping place for unique gifts though!

  • Anne vdH

i will do most of my shopping… at fleamarkets! i live in new york so they’re everywhere and they offer great stuff. otherwise: etsy!

  • Kim B

At this point I have done most of my shopping at The Buckle. With 4 teenagers/young adults to buy for I can’t go wrong with jeans from The Buckle!!

  • Kristen

Don’t laugh, but the majority of my shopping this year has taken place at Cabela’s! This is a outdoorsman/sportsman store, for those who aren’t familiar, and a favorite of my husband. I got him a digital weather station, and tons of stocking stuffers from their general store. I couldn’t stop myself!

  • Laci

Most of all of my shopping this year was done on Amazon. I have only 3 gifts that I actually went to a store an purchased….I guess with a 1 year old, online shopping just appealed to me this year!

  • Nikki

I’m an Amazon girl personally. Ever since you wrote about hints last year I’ve been able to keep track of what to get for who!

  • Alicia

This Christmas, I got quite a few things from Amazon.com. I’m a big online shopper.

I can’t believe that you bought this with our own couch cushion money. You’re awesome Katie!

  • Jenny J. @ Fondant Is Gross

Amazon.com!! I love Amazon…. they have EVERYTHING. And the Central Michigan University bookstore, they don’t have the spread that Amazon does, but I have a lot of book lovers on my list and I spend a LOT of time on campus…

  • Jen C

girl you need to be keeping your pennies 🙂 most of my shopping was done at kohls or uncommongoods.com which has a ton of fun quirky gifts.

  • Amy

Most of my Christmas shopping this year is being done at KikkiK. I can’t help it, I’ve just fallen in love with so much of their stuff this year.

P.S Winning an actual animal at a carnival. Cool. The most I ever got was a stuffed dinosaur.

  • jennie p

I saw these in the Anthro catalog today too!!! Most of my christmas shopping was done in my own house – we’re having a REGIFT christmas!

  • Ashley

We are saving up for a trip to New York for my graduation, so we haven’t really done a lot of shopping this year! However, I never shop at one particular place, I shop wherever I can find the best deals!

  • Lisa

Most of my shopping was done at Bath and Body Works for some excellent hostess gifts and stocking stuffers and of course Best Buy for the guys!

  • Will's Mama

Oh Target…. how could we live without you?! Well, Target and my local bookstore- that covers about 80% of my Christmas shopping.

  • Jayne

Actually, I’m gonna do edible gifts this year so no shop in particular. I got tired of getting stuff that noone really needs/wants. So this year it’s stuff like muesli mix, brownie mix, spiced rubs, spiced nuts, oven-dried tomatoes in oil etc. At least I know they will be appreciated. LOL.

  • Kelly P

So sweet of you! I also love Anthro but can never afford it. I never thought to look for the little things though – I’ve always avoided it so as not to die of a broken heart thinking of all the things I can’t have 🙂 I love the puppy one. I’ve been bugging hubby for a dachshund for 3+ years! Maybe for christmas…..

  • Andrea in NC

Target and Kohls are tied for my favorite Christmas store 🙂 I love buying most of my gifts at Target (especially clothes and purses!) but I can never resist the Christmas decorations and the jewelry at Kohls. I’m always sure to bring a list or budget with me — and I always wind up ignoring it! Merry Christmas!

  • Ashley

hmm…each person seems to want something at different store, how convienent right?.. but probably bed, bath & beyond

  • andrea

I guess most of it has been done at Target (mostly toys) but a lot has been done online getting specific things (like Stephen Joseph backpacks for my kids) it’s a very slim Christmas this year so we are focusing on the kids, but I’m ok with that, there is nothing better then kids on Christmas morning anyway!

  • Catherine M.

Beautiful!! Our big gift for our parents this year is a big photo book of the baby. We put it together on blurb.com. Love it! Other than that, we’ve been buying a lot at the gap.

  • Katie S

I’ve definitely done most of my shopping online – the town in which I live doesn’t even have a Target! And I love these ring dishes 🙂

  • GirlyGreenGirl

Oh Katie, I hope you bought one for yourself! I’ve done almost all my shopping via Amazon. The whole family made wishlists; I haven’t stepped foot in a mall and I’m DONE. Jealous? =P

  • Kara

We do most of our shopping on the internet. Soooo much easier and less messy because we curse humanity less. Keeps us sane! I loooove the doggie one, too!

  • Amy

I recently discovered the joy of etsy — and a lot of my Christmas gifts are coming from there! Actually, thanks to YOU, my two nephews are receiving ‘Fuzzy Robot hats’– LOVE them 🙂

  • Sara

Well, we’re moving from Illinois to North Carolina next week, so I haven’t done a lick of Christmas shopping! I’m planning to do it all in one day when we get there–you know, between unpacking and trying to get utilities turned on and stuff. eek!

  • Kathy Sanderson

I will probably be making most of my Christmas presents this year (as we are rather short on funds). Other things will probably be gotten at Walmart and the Dollar Store.

  • Christy

I haven’t even started shopping yet, but I imagine the majority of it will be done at Target. Though, to make my best friend and my sister ridiculously happy, I should be buying things from Anthropologie!

  • Christina L.

I did most of my shopping on Etsy. I know it isn’t a traditional store but I love it so! You can get unique, special gifts while supporting an artist directly. I feel like you can’t go wrong!

  • Sonya

Does the internet count as a store? I want to win, but if I don’t I’m ordering the bunny one anyway! I think that’s the cheapest one I’ve found!

  • Rachel P.

Most all of my Christmas shopping has been accomplished online. Amazon.com for most and Snapfish.com for the grandparents!

  • Beth G

I’m doing a lot of online shopping this year. Cafepress, Amazon, UncommonGoods…I just really don’t want to go into stores.

  • Sara M

My shopping has been at a few stores, but the 2 with most of my money have been Toys R Us and personalizationmall.com. I freaking love that personalized site!

  • Joke

Oh so you guys do big presents and stocking stuffers are seriously meant to go into stockings? Or what?
I think I’ll end up doing most of my shopping at Amazon because I don’t have time to go outside (writing final papers), but I do want to go to McNulty’s and buy tea or coffee for everyone!

  • MaryannD

I’ve done a lot of shopping online (various sites) and some shopping in Macy’s. I’m not finished yet, so who knows what store I’ll be in next! Love these ring holders!

  • JenniferLO

Honestly, I only had about 3 gifts to put together and all I’ve bought is the fabric for my mom’s blanket, so Joann’s has been my store! 🙂

  • Kaitlyn S.

Most of my Christmas shopping has been split pretty evenly between Super Target and Urban Outfitters. I love Urban Outfitters for all of their quirky house items.

  • Sarah H.

I love the bunny one! I had a bunny growing up whom I loved and was very well behaved (sorry about your jerk one!). His name was Bun Bun (I was 10, forgive me). And he was a large black and white English Spotted rabbit. You should google image that. They’re cute 🙂 Mine didn’t have the full black muzzle area, just some spots. Oh dear- I digress. ANYWAY I did most of my shopping at Target, of course 🙂 But really I did a lot online, which was awesome!!

  • Maggie

I think most of my Christmas shopping will be done at Target, like most years. But I think Half-Price Books and Waterloo Records may have a chance to creep up there…

  • Joy

Thus far I have done my Christmas shopping at Wal-Mart. I live in Canada and, sadly, there is no Anthropologie anywhere near me…or Target. A world without Target is a sad, sad world, Katie. Your blog helps me cope. 🙂

  • Hailey

I Love the bunny! 🙂 AND pretty much ALL of my christmas shopping was done at Cabelas this year. We have alot of outdoorsmen to buy for LOL.

  • Mandy

I did my shopping all over the place: Gap, TJMaxx, Old Navy, Macy’s, Target, Etsy. In fact, I don’t know that I bought more than one thing at each place.

  • Jen Morris

Amazon fo sho! I read your review about the Amazon wish list and created one for my daughter and me, made my husband make one and made all our family look at the list. I’ve made sure that if we buy a gift we check Amazon first for the best price and free 2 day shipping! Can’t beat that!

  • Josie

My shopping will be happening at the Mall of America. One of the best parts about being a Minnesotan: if you can deal with the Mall during December, you can get everything done in one location!

  • Farrah

I love the little doggie dish, too….it looks as though he is just begging for a few pretty baubles! As for shopping, it’s a tie between Target and Amazon….during such a busy and cold winter, it has been a blessing not to have to trudge through the snow towards shopping mall insanity!

  • kirsten

As always, most of my shopping is done at Target – and Amazon. i love target though – it’s my most favoritest store ever.

  • Maple

Mine was mostly done at the locla huge craft fair! I got all the overseas relatives done as well as my Mum – just working on polishing off the husband, my brother and my dad!

  • Kelly H.

AMAZON! We orderd most of our gifts from there this year and that makes me happy. Not standing in lines and dealing with pushy people makes this pregnant gal VERY happy!

  • Jean C.

I read that catalog today, too! I love these!

And I did most of my shopping at thinkgeek.com, because my family is full of awesomely dorky people like me.

  • Dessi

I do most of my shopping at Kohl’s. They have something for everyone and I get an employee discount…that helps!!
