Where Have All My Brain Cells Gone?

This week I have been brain dead.  I blame work.  There’s lots of stuff going on there as we get ready for the state’s standardized testing in a couple weeks.  It’s nothing that’s impossible to tackle, but it certainly takes all my brain cells to make it happen.

Well, it takes all the brain cells that Gracie and Bean haven’t already taken.

By the time I’ve gotten home from school in the afternoons this week, my brain turned to complete mush.  I’m mixing up sentences and forgetting simple words when I speak.  And by 9:00, I’ve usually resorted to outright whining and Chris has sent me to bed.

In short, I’ve been pretty useless this week.

So, today I am copping out on a blog post and I’m posting my second video in one week.  I try not to do that.  Videos bore me and so I assume they bore everyone (cause I tend to think everything revolves around me…).  But I can’t help it.  It’s either you get this video or you get a post about the importance of flossing.  At least it’s a good video!

A Sneak Peak at Gracie’s Nursery:

Today I am grateful for my Grandma.

Aww it’s so beautiful so far Katie!! I love all of Gracie’s clothes — girl clothes are so much fun to shop for 🙂 It’s definitely looking good, now you just need to nudge Chris about the vanity hehe. Doesn’t he know that it is super important?!

Yes, everyone loves baby clothes! I was thinking the same thing when you said that. And can your mom send me some of those burp clothes? 😉

  • Ashley

LOVE THIS VIDEO!! I think my favorite part was when Bean said “Hey Bean!” Such a cute little stinker 🙂 AND such a cute little belly! I cannot wait to see the first pictures of Gracie Girl, and I hope she has your red hair :):)

WONDERFUL. Sometimes, I cheat and look at other blogs. Only sometimes. Kelly is 30ish weeks pregnant with her second girl. Above the crib, she put her initials on a mirror. Etsy & Hobby Lobby – tada! It’s a beauty. Check it out if you’re not set in store about the blocks. (Which I love, I’m simply entranced by the mirror right now.) 🙂 http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/2011/01/project-mirror.html
Oh crap. Did I just break some sorta blog etiquette
that I don’t know yet? If so, I, your imaginary friend, deeply apologizes.

Videos do NOT bore me! I love them! Katie, you’re making me want to go out and bye tons and tons of baby girl clothes…and I don’t even have a baby! But I’m excited to see the video when you’re all finished with it and even MORE excited to see Gracie in her nursery!

  • Kate

I love the video too! I really think you and Chris are the cutest couple. Even in a small video you can see how you complement one another so well! Your family is so beautiful and I wish you all the best and happiness when Gracie girl arrives!

  • Amy @ Serve At Once

Yay, Katie! Things are really coming along! Those have to be the cutest baby clothes ever! Seriously, my ovaries are swooning right now.

I can’t wait to meet sweet Miss Gracie, and I hope your last ten weeks are smooth for the both of you. 🙂

This just makes me want to have another baby! On a side note I’m so jealous seeing you guys in shorts and t-shirts. I am freezing my butt of in Michigan with lots of snow 🙁

Thanks for the glimpse into the nursery! I especially like the stripes on the wall. Very nice for a little one, but I think it will be a nice look as she grows older, too. I’m glad you keep updating, even as you near the end if your pregnancy. – Long-time reader, first-time commenter 🙂

Chris, you did a GREAT job painting Grace’s room!!! I LOVE the video. Thanks for sharing her precious room with us. YOU HAVE MANY MANY ADORABLE OUTFITS FOR GRACIE!!! Made me smile when Beanie said “hi Bean”.

  • Amanda

I love the walls!!! So pretty! I also love the burp cloths. That’s a great design. They look like the insert of a cloth diaper. She could have a side business if she wanted to. Those thing would sell like hotcakes. 🙂

You know what’s important? Flossing. Or at least I *would* have known its importance, if you’d had bothered to tell me.

Also? Is showing all the comments a new thing, or just an accident during the change? ‘Cause I miss seeing all the comments SO much! Pretty please keep it like this?

Ok, here are my thoughts in no particular order:
    1 . I like Amazing Grace! Her name, and a hymn 🙂
    2. Your hair and skin look great!
    3. The room is adorable!! great job. I love all the clothes too! Sonsorry the bedding is discontinued 🙁 that really sucks
    4. do you know if anyone is having a sprinkle for you? I know different families feel different about that.
    5. I agree the grass drying rack is very cool!
Ok, that’s it. Oh and videos aren’t boring 🙂

  • Amanda

I love your video posts because we get to HEAR your voice 🙂 The nursery is adorable – and Bean is such a cool guy he seems to know all about his little sister already 🙂

  • Rachel

What a cute video! I love the nursery and the baby clothes, and your 30 week tummy!
We just found out we’re having a baby girl too…we’re so excited! That’s what we’d hoped for. 🙂

  • Nate's Mom

#1) Bean is so adorable. And such a little man! I love that he was the tour guide to take us viewers to Gracie Girl’s room! And Bean in a rocker? Ah-dorable! #2) After the “look at the totally cute baby that I grew!” photos, I completely foresee Gracie’s first blog entry (I’m betting it will wind up being “Gracie” and “Bean”) as being a photo fashion show. That girl has clothes and she’ll work it if you help her put them on! Maybe even Bean can get into the act….or maybe he’ll be hiding in the Man Cave!

  • Michelle

Your burp cloths are the coolest burp cloths I’ve ever seen! They look like they would work so much better than the standard ones you buy at the store and they are super cute! You have a great mom! Your nursery looks great and your teeny tiny clothes are just adorable!

  • Erin

I can’t believe Gracie Girl is almost here! Her nursery is beautiful. I love the walls! I have the bottle dryer that you have, and I absolutely love it! All I need now is to hear Bean say Gracie!

  • Meghan

Oh my goodness, ADORABLE!! I was so anti-pink when my husband and I were decorating our little girl’s nursery (we ended up with lavendar, green and brown), but I’m re-thinking my decision after seeing how lovely Gracie’s room is 🙂 Everything looks wonderful and the clothes are too stinking cute! I want to run out and buy all those dresses!

  • Rae

    I love Gracies nursery.

I know what you mean about standardized testing. I actually work for the state and its just as stressful of a time up here! They are starting up a teacher blog and a facebook page. You should join!
