MY SISTER IS PREGNANT!!!!!

And since we all know how much I like to focus on myself, the REAL news here is that I’M GOING TO BE AN AUNT!!!!

I’m so excited and happy for her and John Michael. I can’t even contain myself. Seriously. Since she told me, I just keep walking around pretending like I’m nibbling baby toes.

Num, num, num…

I practice on Gracie.

Since that’s the sound I impulsively make whenever I think about Ginny’s baby, I call him Baby Num Num.  (To be said in a Cookie Monster voice, please.)   I think he looks like a Baby Num Num, don’t you?

Ginny and John Michael are going to be such wonderful parents. They are, of course, a little nervous, a little anxious, a little apprehensive. And they should be! Anyone would be! Babies bring all kinds of new experiences and anytime you see major change coming – whether it’s a baby or something else – anxiety is bound to creep in.

But let me tell you, Imaginary Friends. Ginny and John Michael need not worry for one second. I’ve never seen a couple who care about each other as much as these two care for each other. They are tender and sweet and thoughtful with each other and those qualities in a marriage also make wonderful qualities in parents.

Surprisingly, when Ginny told me she was pregnant, one of my first thoughts was that I was glad I had had my babies first because I think being a mom makes me even more excited for her. I mean, I KNOW how good it’s going to be. I KNOW how wonderful it is to be a mother. I KNOW how much closer it brings you to your spouse. I KNOW how it feels to love as deeply as you love your own children. And knowing all of that makes me so very, very happy for Ginny because now she’ll know all of that, too.

Babies, babies everywhere and so many toes to nibble!

Num, num, num…
