What My Mom Taught Me

-1
You taught me that thank you notes are to be handwritten and on time.

You taught me that high heels are for evening and, even then, proceed cautiously.

-2

You taught me that clothes should be ironed and nails should be clean.

You taught me that laughing at yourself is more fun than criticizing yourself.

You taught me that I can do anything I want to do. No exceptions.

You taught me that not everything is fair.

You taught me that I should give as much as I am capable of giving.

You taught me that showing respect and love for others is showing respect and love for the Lord.

You taught me that it is okay to stand up for yourself.

You taught me that paychecks are just paychecks and that you can’t put a price tag on the things in life that are truly valuable.

You taught me that there is no limit as to how far family will go for each other.

You taught me to love God and to seek Him in everything I do.

You taught me to be a wife.

But today, more than any of those things, I want to thank you for teaching me how to be a mom.

I love you, Mom.
