Sit, Boo Boo, Sit.

This weekend, Gracie checked another milestone off her chart.

She now sits.

(sigh)

Damn.

When Bean was a big lump of baby fat, I couldn’t wait for him to hit milestones. Rolling over? DONE IT! Sitting up? BAM! Eating solid food? WHAT UP!

IMG_1217

But my Graciekins? When she hits a milestone, my womb cries out, “STOP GROWING, PUFFALUMP!”

IMG_1214

I think it’s because she’s our last baby and I know that I’ll never get that first back again. Cause it’d just be weird if I started celebrating other people’s kid’s milestones, right?

So, Gracie can sit.

Woop-ti-do.

You know what else she can do? She can snuggle with me right before she goes to sleep. And she can hold her hands up to me when she wants me to pick her up. And she can chew on my finger and babble when she’s bored.

Cause she’s my baby love. No matter what milestone she hits.

Girl, I feel ya 100%! We just couldn’t wait for our first daughter to reach her milestones, but with our baby girl we are in no rush for those milestones. She has other plans in mind though…thanks for another great post 🙂

WOW great for her! I do feel ya. My daughters are all adults. The oldest haad her third child in July and my second daughter is expecting in May and I am soo happy. I love seeing the milestones. Fun times!

Sullivan has tended to do nothing for awhile then hit a few all within a few weeks. We just got used to crawling then he suddenly decides he’s going to start standing and cruising. It’s killing me, smalls. But wow Gracie is adorable. Good work there.

Would it be really weird if I told you this made me cry??? Yes, I know it is, but not because Gracie is sitting up, I actually LOVE that milestone the most. They can play easier, be set down and entertain themselves better and just seem over all happier.

No I am crying because we too are on our last baby and my girl just turned 8 months old, which when you think about it is nearly a year old!!! She just started crawling and holding her own bottle. All these things mean pretty soon she won’t be my sweet little baby anymore. She might even become a sassy little part-time monster like her sister! Aaaa!!

I’m happy for Gracie girl but I totally feel your pain on the milestone thing! : (

Awww. This melts my heart. I am waiting any day for my little miss Emily to have her first real smile. I haven’t had too many firsts yet and am excited for them, but I bet I will melt into a big pile of maternal goo, too when I realize she’s growing up. It already makes me sad to think that she doesn’t fit into newborn diapers anymore…. sigh. Cabin Fever in Vermont

Oh, but Katie – she will change and grow she’ll NEVER stop looking at you with those beautiful blue eyes. Or smiling (even if it’s just to herself when she goes through her teens) because she has such a great mama!

Push her down! I’m only kidding. My almost 4 month old is cutting teeth and I just want to cry. My baby, NOooooo! I really don’t want my baby girl to do anything but be a lump in my arms and smile at me with a big toothy grin. I know how you feel.

You’re going to have to make a deal with her to stop growing. That’s what I did with my gal. She promised she won’t grow up. I trust her…also, she was wearing that cupcake onesie yesterday! (until she peed on it).

Oh no, don’t stop at two. My hubby and I have no children, and are not likely to be able to have any (infertility) We are heartbroken as children are gifts from God. Don’t limit the love you can share – have more children if your “womb is crying out”.
