7) HeatherM: She is so cute! One thing you might want to look into is letting a baby drink their bottle while lying flat, especially if baby is laying on her back. Even if Gracie's reflux is under control enough for her to handle this, the other problem is that the milk washes back into the eustachian tubes and creates the perfect breeding ground for bacteria that cause ear infections. Then as babies and toddlers get older and get more teeth, copious bacteria then then make it's way down into the mouth, and can cause cavities. As a peds nurse, I see cavities in toddlers far more than I would like from them being given bottles while lying flat. For more info, check out the American Academy of Pediatrics.
