Yes, it is BLOGGIE TIME!
The Bloggie Awards are kind of like the Oscars for bloggers. And, thanks to you wonderful imaginary friends, I’m up for Best Picture this year! Or, rather, Weblog of the Year.
(happy dance, happy dance, happy dance)
I was so stinking excited when I found out! I was having such a bad week, and Chris walked into the dining room where I happened to be (what else?) blogging.
“Well, I’ve got good news and bad news.”
“Okay,” I said, not looking up. “Bad first.”
“You were only nominated for one Bloggie.”
“WHAT?!?!” I squealed. “Which one????”
“Weblog of the Year!”
And then we danced around the dining room squealing quietly so that we didn’t wake the kids. That was a few weeks ago, and I haven’t stopped smiling since.
Thank you so much, imaginary friends! Thank you for coming here every day and listening to me fumble my way through marriage, parenting, and everything in between. Marriage Confessions brings me so much joy and fulfillment, you just have no idea. Every single comment I get, I am amazed. Every time Chris tells me our monthly stats, I am blown away. Last month, over 20,000 of you tuned in to my ramblings. Since we launched our new website in March of 2009, MC has seen 6.3 million pageviews from over 471,000 unique people from over 195 countries. I mean, you guys are HERE. You’re here day in and day out, on the rainy days and on the sunny ones. And you have no idea what that means to me. What started in my basement as a small, silly blog has blossomed into a family of thousands of readers every day. No one is more shocked by that than me, and certainly no one is more grateful for that than me.
So, friends. Here’s the part where I ask you to be here for me one more time. Voting for the Bloggies is open now until March 17. And I needs me some internet lovin’, y’all. Head over to the Bloggies voting page and vote for Marriage Confessions for Weblog of the Year (and while you’re there, throw some love to my BFF, The Pioneer Woman, who is nominated a ton of times in other categories). Once you vote, you’ll have to confirm via email that you aren’t a machine and then your vote is counted. Don’t forget the email step! And then go back and vote again from any email address you have! And spread the word!
Thank you, friends, for all that you do for me and my family. Awards or not, we appreciate every single one of you.
And I’d also like to thank the Academy.
(I’ve always wanted to say that.)
