Recital Pictures So Cute, It Might Break the Internets

You. Guys.

Gracie had her tap recital this weekend.  Holy cow.  Cute doesn’t even begin to cover the extent of the pink, fluffy, adorableness in these pictures.

As you all know, Gracie is quite the riot.  She is feisty, energetic, loud, and bossy…  But only really in our house with our family.  When she is in school or out somewhere with friends, Gracie tends to be more on the shy side.  And these pictures capture that so well.

Look at her sweet little face.  She looks terrified.  And she really was.  I wanted to run up there and scoop her up!

She focused so intensely during her dance that I thought maybe she was looking at a teacher or something off to the side of the stage, but nope.  She told me later she just picked a place at the back of the auditorium and looked at that the whole time so she didn’t get scared.  Sweet baby!!!!!

But I was so proud of her for not crying and not backing out (as she has done once in the past at a ballet recital).  She did it! And she knew all her dance steps perfectly! Such hard work!

At the very last pose, when it was all over, she let out this radiant smile! Such relief! It was finally over! I could tell she was proud her herself, too!

And afterwards, we celebrated!

(P.S. My hubby is aging really well, don’t you think? Those laugh lines are so handsome!)

It is so tough to see your kids do something that scares them. My first instinct is to just swoop in and make everything better. But after those really difficult things are over, I am amazed at how proud my kids are of themselves and with the amount of confidence it gives them the next time they face something challenging.

I’m so proud of my girl.

Talk about aging well – lady, you don’t look old enough to be a parent at the recital! What a good looking family!
