All Good Things Come to an End

All Good Things Come to an End

Last week was my first week back at school.  Boooooooo!!!!!!  Hisssssssssss!!!!!  Students don’t come back to school until August 18, but we had to go back early for a two week training and then our regular pre-planning the week of August 11.  It’s just no fair, I tell you! I spent all last week teaching other teachers about digital technology in the classroom.  My master’s degree was in Educational Leadership and my focus area was in technology in education, so digital curriculum is a passion of mine.  I’ve been lucky…

A-MAZE-ING

A-MAZE-ING

Last week my mom and I met some friends from my church at a corn maze just outside of Orlando.  When they invited us, I thought, “That sounds like fun!  Pick some pumpkins.  Play with some corn stalks.  Drink some cider.”  But, y’all.  I was not prepared for the awesomeness that was the Scott’s Farm Corn Maze. As a parent, one of the things that makes life easier is being prepared.  Knowing where you are going with your kids, bringing the necessary supplies, anticipating hiccups and bumps in the road. …

Falling

Falling

Last night I put out my fall decorations. I love fall, especially fall decor. Bright oranges, burnt yellows, harvest greens… nothing feels homier. I have done bloomed where I done been planted. Except for one thing. Autumn. (sigh) I just cannot get my head around autumn in Florida. It’s hot here. I…

Fall is for Family

Fall is for Family

This past weekend we planned to just lay low at the house.   Beanie was getting over his terrible cold and my cold was starting to get bad. But then we woke up Saturday morning and said to hell with that plan and we loaded the car up for a day trip.   In our defense, we wanted to go pick pumpkins and there just aren’t that many weekends left to do that in.   Although, the fact that it was only about 35 degrees outside should have probably deterred…

Fall is for Fashion

Fall is for Fashion

Fall is my favorite season.  I live in Connecticut all year long just so I can spend fall here.  I love when the air gets crisp and when fall flowers come into season. And I love fall fashion, too.  Like these lovely new shoes that I bought this weekend at Target.  Adorable! But what I do NOT love about fall is the transition into fall.  Those first few weeks when the weather is cool then warm then cool then warm.  And I don’t know whose I idea it was to…
