You Get What You Need

Since we bought our house last year, I have been begging Chris to paint the outside of it. It’s this terrible peach color. Like, bridesmaids dress peach. And it has burgundy trim. It is the definition of an eye sore. We have worked on the yard and it looks much better than when we first moved it, and that has helped the curb appeal a bit. But until it is painted, I will continue to think of our house as “our big ol’ ugly house.” Chris had three excuses for…

Weekend Round Up

For the past month, Chris has been working night and day to prepare for the Target Family Theater Festival. It’s a festival that his theater puts on and that is sponsored by Target (totally coincidental, by the way…). The festival lasts all weekend and includes all kinds of outdoor activities for kids and then indoor performances for families. This year there were people from The Blue Man Group, magicians, singers, dancers, puppeteers, storytellers, and actors. And they all put on shows for kids! Since Chris was working, my mom and…

Operation BWYP: Family Festival of Fun

This past weekend, the theater where Chris works teamed up with my favorite place on earth and presented the Target Family Theater Festival, so my mom and grandma came over and we took Bean up to the festival to cheer on Daddy while he worked.  It was Chris’ first big function at this theater and it was such a hit!  The festival had tents set up on the lawn outside of the theater and each tent had a kid-friendly activity. Wee Young Things

Way back when we were wee young things (as opposed to being old young things now), Chris and I lived with odd schedules.  I worked a regular 8-5 job, but his schedule in college and grad school was always weird.  But, we were wee young things and so we did what we had to do to work around it. Have I ever told you about Chris’ job?  He’s explained it once or twice in the Man Cave (remember that place, Chris?) but in case you missed it, I’ll recap it…

Have We Met?

I don’t think I have ever talked about what I do for my job and since I have a pretty unique one, I thought I’d share.   The company I work for builds scenery and automation for Broadway.   I won’t lie – I love what I do and its always fun to talk about because its not a common job. I have been working in theater for almost 15 years.  I started in high school.  Truthfully I was dragged into it, but soon after I started I was hooked.…

He Graduated!

After 3 years of grad school, I am so proud to say that Chris has finally graduated from the Yale School of Drama! WOO HOO!!! I have ever been more proud of anyone in my entire life. And to make this time even more special for him so many special people showed up to support him throughout the weekend. Other than my own wedding day, I have never felt so much love in one place before. Family and friends really went above and beyond to rain down love on both…
