Spend a Saturday With Me!
This past Saturday, I decided to take you guys along with me through my day! Let’s get going…
8:00am – I woke up and got my workout out of the way before any excuses crept up.
9:00 – Still sweaty from my workout, I ran to Dunkin Donuts for a Saturday morning treat for the family. (Real life: We had no breakfast food in the house. None. Zero. Zip.)
9:30 – I went upstairs to shower and get ready for the day. I also can’t start my day without straightening up my bedroom. It’s always the first chore of my day.
10:30 – Dressed and ready for the day, I went downstairs to the family room and spent some time in my planner, prepping for next week. I also did my meal planning for the week and put together my grocery list.
11:00 – With my grocery list in hand and the kiddos and Chris playing outside in the pool, I headed out to run a few errands and do my grocery shopping at Target. Is it just me or has grocery shopping alone without kids become the new vacation?!
1:00 – I got back from my errands, unloaded the groceries, put them away, prepped some of the fruits and veggies, ate a quick bite of lunch, and then headed outside to join the family in the pool.
3:00 – I can’t handle as much sun as my olive-skinned kiddos and husband, so I headed back inside to read and take a blissful nap! I finished this book this weekend and LOVED it! Highly recommend!
5:00 – I woke up to find that, as expected, no magic fairy had shown up to clean up my house. Bummer. So, I dragged the kiddos out of the pool to help clean up a bit. The deck and pool were a mess with toys, towels, and snack debris. The living room was still messy from the day before when Gracie had a friend over, and the kitchen was still a disaster from when I prepped food after my grocery run.
5:30 – After a quick pick up of the house, I made the kids take showers, too, and I washed Gracie’s hair out in the kitchen sink because she walked in with a head full of conditioner.
6:00 – Chris fired up the grill and we threw on ribs for dinner. I prepped corn on the cob and a Caesar salad for sides and then came outside to hang out with Chris while he grilled.
7:00 – We ate dinner and I cleaned up the kitchen (again…) while the kiddos picked a few games to play. We ended up playing Monopoly Deal for over an hour and the kids loved it! It was their first time playing. But then the tears started from getting a bad hand and the bickering started and then more tears and by 8:30, Chris and I were over it and sent everyone to bed! They’d been in the pool almost all day, so they needed it anyway. Everyone was tired!
8:30 – Chris and I stayed up a little later after the kids went to bed, just sitting on the back deck for a while.
9:30 – I headed to bed a little early to read my book and Chris came up about an hour later.
Thanks for spending our Saturday with us!

I’m about a third of the way through that book (audiobook–I can listen while I work) and I’m loving it so far!
