Things That Don’t Suck
So, life kind of stinks right now. I’m tired of being pregnant. I’m sore. I’m cranky. And if I don’t get my hormones under control, I’m going to end up as a single parent. We’re just a big mess. But I have always believed that your circumstances can be changed based on your own attitude. I don’t have control over anything except my own outlook. Well, now is the time to change my outlook.
To remind myself that life is bigger than me and by swollen feet, I’ve been trying to think of things that make life good. Things that I really enjoy.
1. Nutella
2. Sunday afternoons
3. Claw foot bathtubs
4. Getting the large popcorn tub at the movies
5. Finding money in the laundry
6. A handwritten note in my mailbox

16. Picking apples and strawberries at the orchard
17. A long shower after a day on the beach
18. New dresses and freshly shaven legs
19. Chris’ cologne (which is Pleasures for Men, by the way)
20. Saturday nights at Barnes and Noble
21. Mexican cheese dip
22. Long wooden docks
23. Arts festivals
24. Mall food courts
25. Windows down, favorite song on the iPod, driving down Rt. 1 in Connecticut
26. Real Housewives of New York
27. My dogs’ paws
28. Finding a baby onesie mixed in with my laundry
29. A clean car
30. The thumping sound of a cantalope

I am single, never married, no kids and a pup. While we have nothing in common (at the surface) I still sincerely enjoy your blog and your wit! I have recommended your blog to two friends that are recently married and pregnant or trying to get that way:) You go girl!

Number 26 is one of my favorites…sometimes I wish I was in NYC running around in their little circle and being as glamorous/dramatic just like them!

I had a hard time with week, 34, 35 and 36. I’m now in week 37 and being in the final weeks somehow makes everything more doable. I still had throbbing ankles at the end of today BUT we are surviving! Keep it up Katie, we are ALMOST THERE!

Hang in there. You only have to look a post or two down to see how much in life you have to look forward to.
And don’t worry–Housewives is gonna be on again Tuesday night.
(Are you Team Bethenny?) “Tell him he’s in the midst of a deep homosexual panic.”

i also love clawfoot tubs, too. the rare opportunity to soak in one always reminds me of a Parisian romance novel.

I can’t believe that you like driving down rte. 1. That road scares me to death.

My daughter has Nutella on the top of her list too. If I’m not careful, she will eat the entire container one spoonful at a time.

Great perspective! I might have to try this since I’m in a Hugh Jackman-lack-of-sleep induced stupor today!
