She’s a Super Geek! Super Geek! She’s Super Geeky!

Okay, as I write this post Chris is sitting next to me to tell me exactly what to say because I don’t speak the geek. And he does.

Apparently, someone who shall remain nameless was messing around with the blog this week and made some changes that may have caused some problems with your feeds.

(PAUSE:   If you read that last sentence and don’t know what I’m talking about, then you probably weren’t affected/effected/defected/erector set…sorry.   Sometimes word association games take over my thought process.)

What Nameless Person wanted to do was create one big feed so that subscribers could see blog posts in all of our pages – Confessions, The Bean, and The Man Cave.   What actually happened was that some of your feeds were inadvertently redirected and you either couldn’t access anything or you saw Pipes.

In short, its a big freaking mess.

The solution is that if you’re having problems viewing the site and you access it through the feed, you need to update your feed.   Actually, its probably the best idea that everyone update their feed to avoid any future problems.   There is a box on every page on the website now with the new feeds.   You can choose to follow the entire blog which will show you all posts on all pages.   Or you can choose which pages you want to get updates on individually.   Its up to you, but you need to update.

A word about Pipes…   You will most likely only see Pipes if you actually click on words “Marriage Confessions” on the full feed page in your reader, as opposed to clicking on a post title.

Unfortunately, that’s the only way for us to offer a full feed, so we can’t fix that part.   However, if you do end up in Pipes – DON’T PANIC!   It functions the same as a reader and you can click on a post there instead to get to the site.   Pipes is just a different type of blog/feed reader.     Or you can go back to your preferred reader and access the site there.

If any of you Super Geeks out there have the code for how we can combine all of our posts into one feed that will let us bypass Pipes, we’d love to know, so send Chris an email at chris.marriageconfessions@gmail.com.

I do realize that this has been inconvenient and annoying.   Our website is growing faster than Chris and I can keep up with on the technical side.   We’re learning, but there is a learning curve.   So, sometimes we may flip a switch or make a slight tweek and you may notice something is askew on your end.   Just let us know if you have problems because chances are we won’t know what you’re seeing unless you holla!
