Ain’t They Cute?

Just before my baby shower on Saturday night, my whole family got together for a family portrait.  We even had a photographer.  And matching clothes.  It was craziness, and it was organized by my lovely Grandma who turned 80 this year and wanted nothing more than a professional photo session with her family.  Ain’t she cute?

And we actually cleaned up reeeal pretty like.

(All photos are professional property of Hartman Photography in Pensacola, Florida.  I should mention that I have cropped these photos, so the quality of them is MUCH better in real life.  I just suck at editing pictures.  I highly recommend Hartman Photography if you are in the Pensacola area and looking for a photographer.  They were flexible, quick, personable, and easy to work with…  Wish I could say the same about my family.)

After all the family portraits, we broke off and took individual pictures.  Chris and I did a series of traditional couple pictures and then some pregnancy photos.  I think they turned out really pretty considering I’m 50 pounds overweight right now…

But the best part of the photo session was when my sister’s boyfriend, John Michael PROPOSED!  He called the photographer the week before and told him what was going to happen.  So, very casually, the photographer took some normal couple pictures of them as if everything was normal.

And then when Ginny wasn’t looking, the photographer directed John Michael into this pose…

And then this happened:

Crying like a pansy

She said yes!

And then I came over to examine the hardware - which was veeeeery nice!

I loved that John Michael proposed in front of our family.  And I loved that my sister cried.  And I loved that the Bean was (almost) able to be part of it.  But more than anything, I loved that it was John Michael who was proposing because no one has ever made my sister as happy as he has made her.

More than anything else, this blog is a tribute to the greatest thing that has ever happened to me – my marriage.  I wish nothing but the same happiness and good fortune for Ginny and John Michael.  I know how much fun marriage can be, and I can’t wait to see them explore it for themselves.

CONGRATULATIONS GINNY AND JOHN MICHAEL!
