I was never really that comfortable with the idea of nursing, but wanted to do it for my (now) 6 month old. I remember reading the nursing books that cautioned to not even keep an emergency stash of formula in the house because, and I’m not quoting here but this is truly what they said, because then you might be tempted to give up nursing if you are having trouble late one night and you are tired and that you will be a whole lot less likely to go to the store in the middle of the night to get formula if you are having trouble nursing. So, I guess the logic of the book was – if you don’t have other options, even in emergency situations, then you are forced to keep nursing?!? Seems so weird to me‚ ¦ Anyway, I was going to try to nurse for a full year – but that didn’t work out. Something was up with my supply and it just didn’t work out. I did the best I could and that’s all you can do. I am curious about the material you have because I am not sure what to do when the next baby might come around – to skip it altogether or do it for a short amount of time. Thanks.
