Puppy Love
From the minute we brought Bean home from the hospital, Big Molly has been right by his side.
She used to lay down where ever he was – next to his bouncer, next to the swing, next to him on the floor, and even in his room at night. She was hopelessly in love with him.
As Bean has gotten older and more mobile, Molly and Bean have stayed tight. They go everywhere together.
Today, I was sitting in the living room and out of nowhere, Molly walks by with Buzz Lightyear riding on her back. I suspect Bean.
Sweet, sweet Molly. No matter how rough Bean gets with her, she just lays there with him. Always patient. Always loving. Never even a hint of frustration or anger from her. Bean climbs all over that poor dog and she seems to love him even more for it.
I thought nothing would ever come close to the love between Bean and Big Molly. But then I walked into the living room today and saw this strangely familiar sight.
It seems like just yesterday that Bean was laying down on the floor under Molly’s watchful eye. And now, it’s Gracie Girl’s turn.
I hope Bean doesn’t mind loaning out his furry friend to his sister every now and then…

Molly must be a baby loving dog! It’s so cute that she’s so protective of them.

We have a golden retriever and I expect that he will act the same way as Big Molly with children. He’s a lover!

Love Big Molly! 🙂 She is the greatest. I’m glad she’s looking out for the kids and that she is so patient with them. What a good girl!

We had a golden retriever that was the best dog ever. We brought our son home and they had the same relationship that Molly and Bean have. We lost our golden gus in December and just about everyday, our son says “God needed a good yellow dog in heaven.”

We have a 20lb white furry fluffy dog who LOVES children and this is something I can’t wait to see when we have our first. This is so sweet.

It’s amazing how some dogs react to babies. My mother-in-law’s dog would sit at my feet whenever I would nurse my babies at her house and guard the door when they we napping in the bedroom. So sweet!

I don’t know why, but this made me cry a little bit. What a precious puppy Molly is. 🙂

As a lover of both dogs and babies this kind of choked me up. Love it!

Aww! I have a feeling my lab is going to be just like that and the thought makes me so happy. He already rests his stomach on my belly and just lays there. Gracie girl and Bean are lucky to have such a great “friend” from the start! Cabin Fever in Vermont

That is too precious. Labs are amazing dogs and it looks like Molly is not exception.

I love protective dogs! I have a pair of them as well! They’re protective and nurturing in different ways and make quite a set. That and my girls just love them!

I love when dogs do this. Our dog is just done with the baby. Not aggressive by any means, just over him. Send him back already. So he sits on the baby, and drops his toys on the baby. It gets really fun when he’s running laps and treats Sullivan like he’s a hurdle to jump over. I think my heart stops for a second when he does it before I can stop him. Molly is such a sweetheart 🙂

What a good puppy!!! Makes me miss my Sadie-puppy (akita-lab mix), she was my best friend and protector growing up. Best. Dog. Ever. (No offense to Molly)

This post totally made me tear up! I grew up with a German Shepherd with the same tendencies. “Marley & Me” is the only movie that makes me cry every time…

There’s just something so special about a dog and a child – or in this case, two!

This post brought tears to my eyes. I love dogs, and especially Labradors, since I have one. So it is lovely to get even further proof of just how caring and big hearted those dogs are.

That is precious! What a treasure to have such a sweet, loyal, family dog. Hoping Gracie has just as much of a special bond with Molly as Bean does.

Is there black on her tongue in the picture, or just dirt? If so, does she have chow in her? Growing up my family had two beautiful chows. They acted like cats in a way because they would only hang out with you if they wanted to, but they were awesome about protecting the family! They were great dogs. Scared the neighbors and friends though…It’s so awesome to see Molly give so much love, and to receive quite a bit in return : )

Isn’t it funny how dogs just know? BTW – where’s Lucy?
Shari
Don’t you just love how dogs are? When I’m not doing well and mostly stuck in bed, my dog will lie right in the doorway of our bedroom and keep watch of me.
I love my dogs!
