Rapid Fire

I’ve learned that with babies, it’s best to set your camera to continuous shooting. They twitch and fidget so much that it’s too hard to catch them at just the right moment for a picture. So, I leave my camera on rapid fire when one of my kids is doing something cute and then I just click away. Most of the time, I get one or two decent pictures out of a series, but occasionally, they’ll keep the cute going a while and I get a whole bunch of really cute shots.

Gracie is a professional at keeping the cute alive. Girlfriend knows how to work a camera. She turns on that sweet, gummy grin and no one stands a chance. I have yet to see her smile at anyone who didn’t immediately melt into a big pile of mush on my living room floor. I can already tell this is going to be a problem for Chris when Gracie is about 16 years old and wants to drive the car or go on a date with a boy. Hopefully, she’ll have teeth by then. I’m crossing my fingers that she’s not as irresistible with teeth.

For now though…well…I’m pretty much a sucker for her.

Oh, man. I will tell you this: she is the first baby in a LONG time to make my husband actually “awww” out loud!

This is necessary when you have a baby. It took me a few days of blurry, eyes half closed pictures to just keep my camera on that setting all the time. And baby laughs are my absolute favorite thing every. She’s so stinking cute, Katie, seriously.

Oh, I melted. As literally as someone can melt I just did.

And my sleeping (evil) non-baby-fan roommate came out and asked what I was squealing about, and I showed him, AND HE MELTED TOO! (I quote, “Ooooh… Well that one’s pretty cute. See, if they ALL looked like that. But they don’t.”)
