10/10: Beach Favorites

10 of my favorite things about the beach

  1. I love my beach chair. It’s nothing special, but it’s low to the sand and super comfortable and it makes me happy.
  2. Beach sunsets.
  3. Watching my kids play together.
  4. Watching young families experience the beach with their little one for the first time.
  5. Older couples who wear bathing suits and tennis shoes for a walk on the beach.
  6. Beach snacks.
  7. Beach bars.
  8. Sandbars that aren’t too far from the beach.
  9. Tying your float to a friend’s and floating and chatting together until your drinks run out and then making your kids swim in and bring you another one. (Gold star parenting right there…)
  10. The feeling after you shower off after being at the beach all day.

10 of the worst things about the beach

  1. Sand in your bathing suit.
  2. End of List.

What are some of the beaches you go to? East or west of the state? We visit Florida a couple times a year and the beaches you seem to go to are quite peaceful and quiet.

The closest beach for us to New Smyrna Beach on the east coast. I like it because you can drive out on the sand, so it makes loading and unloading easy. This summer, we have started going an extra 30 minutes to the west coast because the Gulfside beaches are WAY prettier, the waves tend to be smaller and more manageable for the kids, and the water stays shallower further out. Our favorite is a stretch just south of Tampa. We go to North Reddington Beach, John’s Pass, and Madeira Beach. Our favorite is Treasure Island. 🙂
