Scenes from the Homefront

I made this festive Father’s Day basket for Chris with lottery tickets, grilling supplies, and all his favorite candy.
I also made this super cute little gift card holder for one of Bean’s friend’s birthdays. Found the candy boxes at the Dollar Tree and added them to a $25 GameStop gift card because… boys.
Also made this crafty little card for my MIL’s birthday. I bought the vellum, card stock, and cute ice cream cone paper at Michael’s and decorated it with ribbon I already had. Gettin’ fancy up in herrrrr.
Gracie has made it part of her daily routine to do my Write the Word Bible journaling with me. I found her a really cute kids WTW daily schedule for June all about music and praise. She loves it and it makes me so happy to share that time with her!

I took this picture of Chris when we were at the California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort celebrating our 14th anniversary. It is my new favorite picture of Chris because this is his happy face. His relaxed face. His bourbon face.

Chris gave such a wonderful speech this past Sunday at the retirement party of the current Executive Director at the Rep. It was the passing of the torch as Chris steps into the role on July 1. Obviously, our family was respectful and reverent, given the importance of the event…
Gracie recently played in a basketball tournament at the YMCA and she was the only girl in the tournament! I was so proud of her because she can be really shy, and I saw her stepping out of her comfort zone and gaining such confidence!
Before the tournament started, Gracie and Bean warmed up together. Which meant they played one-on-one until Gracie cried and Bean stormed off. #family
Gus the Hamster died this past week. It was quite the ordeal and I’ll share the full story later, but this is us burying him outside. Out of the entire backyard, the kids insisted we bury him under the monkey barks and playground. In hindsight, I probably should have used my parental veto for that…
Chris recently found his Tony Hawk PS2 game from high school. He has now successfully taught both our kids how to play AND even has Bean listening to ska music on his Alexa in his bedroom. My 90’s self is pretty proud.
