Beanie and the Bumbo

“Hey, Mom,” said the Bean. “What is this thing?”

“Its called a Bumbo, Beanie. It helps you learn how to sit up on your own.”

“Oh yeah?” said Beanie. “Well why can’t I just sit up on my own without the Bimbo?”

“Bumbo,” I say. “And you can’t sit up on your own yet because you don’t have great control over your head.”

“What are you talking about?” asked Beanie. “I’ve got perfect control of my head.”

“Are you sure, Beanie?” I say. “Because you look like you’re leaning a little, Buddy.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Mom.”

“Well, Beanie,” I say. “You’re getting better, but you still need a little help. That’s where the Bumbo comes in. It’ll help with your center of gravity.”

“Mom,” said Beanie. “Have you seen my belly? I really don’t think I’ll have a problem with my center of gravity. I’m like a weeble wobble.”

“Maybe,” I said. “But let’s stick with the Bumbo for a while.”

“Fine. Whatever. You people bore me.”

Lemme tell ya…I am addicted to your blog! I am 44, single, no kidz…just a pup…NOTHING in common…..but I look forward to your posts. They crack me up and sometimes bring a tear to my eye. Cheers!

Porter’s thighs are so chubby that when we try to lift him out of the Bumbo, it comes with him! Looks like Beanie doesn’t have that problem!

The Bumbo is the best invention ever! Zoey must have sat in hers about 8 hours a day.. she loved it.. then you can add the tray to it and put suction cup toys on it.. it will help him learn to reach for things! awesome toy! CUTEST little boy ever! so adorable!

I love the Bumbo. Of course when my two oldest were born it was not around. Then with great excitement I went to buy it for my now 27 month old only to find out it had been recalled. It looks like a lot of fun.

You blog is great. There is a perfect mix of humor and seriousness mixed all up. I will be back!
