Bean’s Christmas Presents, Part Four

Bean was a lucky little dude at Christmas this year.  His grandparents on both sides of the family went all out and he now has all new toys to entertain him.  One of Bean’s favorite toys was this Little Tikes red wagon:

IMG_7269

Bean loves to push and pull things around right now and he loves to sort things into piles, so this wagon lets him do both of those things. He fills it with things and then pushes or pulls it all over the house.

IMG_7286

He also loves to chase the dogs with it. The dogs, however, hate this game. Doesn’t bother Bean though. He just pushes and pulls all over the house.

IMG_7285

I like it because when he’s not using it, it looks really cute sitting in his bedroom.

IMG_7281

He also got a few smaller things that are now part of our everyday routines. First, he got this adorable little airplane hook that hangs on his wall in this bedroom. I hung it really low so that he could use it and he does! Every afternoon he comes home and puts his school bag on his little hook.

IMG_7268

Another fast favorite was this book that my parents got Bean to help him adjust to his new big boy bed. It’s called How Will I Ever Sleep in This Bed? and it is the cutest little book. It’s about this little boy who just got a big boy bed and every night he fills it with stuffed animals so he doesn’t have to sleep alone. But then he tries to get into bed and there’s no room for him because of all his animals, so he takes them out of his bed and climbs in all by himself and sleeps like a big boy. We read it every night and Bean loves it. He points out the big boy bed and we talk about what a big boy Bean is.

IMG_7273

Bean also got a pretty good assortment of puzzles this year. To be honest, I thought he was a little young for them but that he could play with them for a while until he grew into using them for their real purpose. But he surprised us by working the puzzles right now. Chris’ mom also got him some puzzles, but I haven’t taken pictures of those yet. Bean loves them all!

IMG_7274

This next gift is just the coolest. It’s practical and fun and inexpensive and, most importantly, Bean LOVES it! It’s called a Yookidoo Fill and Flow spout.

IMG_7266

The Yookidoo takes water from the bathtub and cycles it through the pump, creating a little fountain right there on the side of the bathtub. It runs on simple batteries and it is so easy to operate – you turn the pump on and off by pushing the face on the pump. Bean turns it on and off throughout his whole bath.

IMG_7262

IMG_7258

Bean also loves the little cups that came with the pump. He takes them in and out of the fountain, fills them with water, stacks them, unstacks them, dumps the water out… The cups are good toys in and of themselves.

IMG_7261

Bath time is Bean’s favorite time of day anyway, but with the Yookidoo he loves it even more!

Today, I’m giving away one Yookidoo to a blog reader just because I know your kids will love it, too! To be entered to win the giveaway, leave a comment telling me what yours or your child’s favorite Christmas gift was this year. The giveaway will close at 8:00pm EST on Thursday and a winner will be announced on Friday.

Good luck!

Well, Alex was only a month old at Christmas, so he doesn’t have a favorite, yet. My favorite was a copy of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas that we hope to read to him every year.

  • Noel Stout

I don’t have any kiddos yet, but one of the gifts for the various nieces and nephews was a subscription to National Geographic Kids. I used to love poring over the magazines when I was little. I figured I would start with the Kids magazine and then move up to the regular magazine when the kiddos are older!

  • Leticia

What a cute gift! My little one has yet to make his appearance (one more month), but I’m sure this would be loved as he gets older!

  • Candice

Oh, my son would LOVE the Yookidoo. His favorite gift for Christmas is this convertible Vtech toy that plays lots of music. It can be used on the floor, sitting up, standing, or walking (it attaches or detaches from a stand with wheels and the wheels have brakes). It’s a cool “grow with him” toy. Great find on my parents’ part 🙂

  • Amy V

My kids favorite toys this year were exactly what I expected: my son, 21 months, any trucks (he got three or four and totally loves them). My daughter, 4.5 years, loves Barbies and Barbie clothes. I did also buy her dress up clothes, but the Barbies took the cake this year.

  • Catherine

It’s probably a tie for Molly. She LOVES the walking toy that she got. It’s a dinosaur that she can either walk with (which is good since she’s just getting sturdy at walking) or ride on (which she loves just as much). But the surprise hit was the Molly-sized chair from Land of Nod from her grandparents. She LOVES it, just like it’s a toy. She climbs in and out of it all day long, and loves looking like a big girl drinking her sippy cup and lounging in her chair. So cute!

And I know that she would LOVE the Yookidoo. Bathtime is her favorite time of day, too!

  • colleen

Nolan loves the Snoopy playing the piano toy from Hallmark. Of all his ‘toys’ he likes this thing the best. We actually returned the gifts we got him, he got so much stuff. But I’m about to buy the Yookidoo if we dont’ win it, it looks awesome!

  • Emily S.

My 3-month-old daughter is loving her activity mat- she just reached and grabbed for the toys for the first time this week!

  • Amanda S

My little one loved his kitchen best this year. He cooks every night for me :). And with his baby sister coming in March, this mama likes the gift too since it should get many years of good use.

  • Tiffany

I have 2 kids. Emily is 6 and her favorite gift was her iCarly karaoke machine. You hook it up to the TV and she can sing along and see herself while she sings. Jacob is 8 and his favorite were any of the Lego sets he got. I’m also expecting a little girl in March and her name will be Katie. 🙂

  • Jen D.

A little play mailbox! My daughter is OBSESSED with mail! Haha…isn’s always the most random things that end up being the favorite? Also…I wanted to buy this for her, but they were sold out at Toys R Us!

  • Michelle (mom of Henry, 20 months!)

Oh Henry’s favorite gift was from Santa- a KidsCraft Retro Red Kitchen- I got it for a steal on Amazon for $99 plus free shipping! I’m so not joking about the price- it was amazing and it’s REALLY well made. Henry can’t get enough of it. Now with that said, he would LOVE a bath toy- especially if it means his own faucet! We’ll be buying this one if we don’t win it. 🙂 Thanks for offering- fingers crossed!!!

  • Summer B R

E’s favorite gift would have to be his Discovery Toys Kids Animated Marine Lamp (fake aquarium) that his Uncle Matt gave him 😉 He LOVES it!!!!

  • jody

Oh DANG that Yookidoo is too cute for words! My 3 y/o would LOVE that as he is always asking for me to run the water so he can fill cups like that.

  • El

Bean lucked out this year! My son’s favorite Christmas present is a dump and fill wagon that came with large lego like blocks that can attach to a couple of places on the wagon!

  • Emily B.

My daughters favorite Christmas present this year was her Dora the Explorer card table. She loves sitting there to eat her breakfast in the morning and her supper at night.

  • Shannon

Lucas’ favorite Christmas gift is My Pal Scout. He will play with him for hours. Just dancing and clapping. It’s so cute. I thought he was too young for it, being 8 months old, but he plays and plays with him

  • Amy

My son loves his digital camera he got for Hanukah. He’s three and takes pictures almost every night. It’s fun to see things from his perspective.

  • Brandi

My 2 year old daughter loves the Jessie (Toy Story) doll she got from Santa. Santa did a whole Toy Story theme for the little guys. My 8 month old son most enjoyed the jar of Turkey and spoons Santa left in his stocking.

  • Jennifer

I’m hoping this would inspire my niece to like bathtime :-). My favorite gift was Yakatracks. I have a tendency to fall in the winter and these things get put on my shoes to give me some traction.

  • Erin

My 7 month old, Elijah, loves his little Tickle Me Elmo Baby. He can make it giggle himself, and he loves to chew on the big, plastic eyes. And per your suggestion from last Christmas, we got him the ducky bathtub, and he is crazy about it. He’ll love this new bath toy if we win! Thanks!

  • Erin R.

My son’s favorite gift this Christmas was Fisher-Price Lil’ Zoomers Spinnin’ Sounds Speedway. There’s music and motion, he just loves it! He’s still learning how to roll the cars down the ramp onto the “raceway”- he prefers to throw the cars on to the raceway while it’s spinning 🙂

  • Sara M

i have 2 boys: the favorite present for the 3YO was his new bike and helmet and for the 18MO he loves his inflatable ball pit. Of all the toys both of them got, I love the little people farm set!

  • Amy Jo

On Christmas Eve, while gathered around the Christmas tree with family, my husband and I found out the gender of our first child! It’s a BOY! That was the best present I have ever received! I am sure that my little man will love this little tubby time toy!

  • Megan

My 2.5 yr old’s favorite Christmas gift this year (and mine as well!) was his train table with 100 piece train set. He can spend hours building tracks and taking his trains through the tunnels and bridges. It is so much fun to hear him yell choo chooooo! 🙂

  • Becca

My son Adrian just turned 11 months old, and his BEST gift this holiday season was one of those bed-bug/whack-a-mole style toys. He even figured out how to hit the little critters with the hammer – I had no idea he was so coordinated! 🙂

  • Natalie

My 3-year-old absolutely LOVES his train table. We had planned to put it in the basement after the Christmas excitement wore off, but we’re stuck with it as a piece of living room furniture. 🙂

  • Alicia CP

I was just going to try to buynthis, but first I’ll wait to see if I win it! Yay! Little Man will LOVE this.

His favorite gift was a wooden train with stacking pieces. Simple.

  • Alex

my little guy got a jumperoo, too and he LOVES it! he is 7 months old and starting to really love baths, so he would have a ball with this toy.

  • Lindsey in Utah

My little girl is about a month or two older than Bean – and they have SO MUCH in common! Her favorite Christmas gift was definitely the little stroller we got her so she could push around all her toys. She also got a few puzzles and does them about 100 times a day. SO FUN. Her favorite time of day is ALSO bathtime and she would LOVE the Yookidoo! I’ve never even seen one of those – so neat!!

  • Casey

My boy is 7 months old and his favorite Christmas gifts are the Vtech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker and the Laugh & Learn Puppy. He is really into anything he can make noise with, so these are big hits! Plus, he loves to chew on the Puppy’s ears!

This is a great giveaway… Hubby & I were just talking last night how we need some new bath toys for Eli. He used to LOVE bathtime, but lately has been not into it at all. We think he is just bored in there with the same old stuff.

  • Kelly

I bought Emma a little toy microwave. She can put all her little toy food inside it, it makes noises like a microwave, and the inside turns in a circle. She loves it!

  • Meredith

I don’t have a kiddo yet, she is coming in a month! But that Yookidoo looks like so much fun, makes me excited for her bath time, even if she is a good year off from being able to use a Yookidoo! I would say my favorite baby related gift I got for Christmas was a super soft blanket from my MIL, I foresee it getting lots of use during late night feedings.

  • victoria67

oh man, my one year old nephew would LOVE that water toy!! I think his favorite Christmas toy was his fisher price race car track, he loves to throw the cars (or any other toy) on it and watch it spin and spin.

  • Kathy Sanderson

Zephra’s favorite gift was her new car seat. She can finally face forward now, and during the whole trip she says, “Wee!”

  • Trina

You are going to laugh but my 19 month old son loves the mailman and he got a real mail truck from his Grandma. That goes wherever he goes!!

  • Leslie

My little guys favorite was a little train. He loved it so much, he took it to bed with him Christmas Eve night and cried when we couldn’t find it later on Christmas Day. We did find the train and when we got home bought him a train table on clearance. Love Christmas clearance!

  • Caitlin

Thanks so much for sharing these! My son is one day younger than Bean, and I always ending up adding some of the things you suggest to his wishlist!

My son’s favorite Christmas gift was the Cozy Coupe, he just kept yelling “car” over and over, he was so excited about it.

  • Kelli

Janie was 4 months old at Christmas and although she got so much great stuff and lots of cute clothes – her favorite was the tissue paper! She also loved the Haba teething toys we gave her.

  • ashley

My son Jonas was SPOILED this Christmas, but his favorite toy was a Fisher Price Laugh and Learn reading chair! It’s precious to see him sit down in it to make the music play, he’ll sit down then stand up over and over and over!

  • Rebecca Rodriguez

Believe it or not my four year old son Julio asked Santa for a moustache, like his grandfather. A friend of mine found a pack of assorted moustaches and I think he is the happiest child on earth. He loves to look at himself in a mirror and wiggle his upper lip and show off how big he is.

  • Jenalee

My daughter is 13 months old and LOVES the new sled we got her for Christmas. Still waiting on the snow and a warmer temperature day so we have been pulling her around the house!

  • Mandy

My daughter would love that toy! Her favorite Christmas toy is the Cabbage Patch doll we got her. She loves to take her “baby” everywhere. Which a good sign since baby #2 is coming along in June!

  • Tracy B

My 16-month old daughter’s favorite gift was her play kitchen! She loves to open and close the oven and cabinets, stir her “soups” in the pots, babble away on the phone. LOVES it!

  • Jen

Totally agree with you on this toy!!
My son got one christmas too and I cant get him out of the tub now. I saw it online months ago and said something to my parents about and they got it for him.
It is the coolest thing ever! Kason always wants to leave the water running so he can fill up his cups and dump them out. This saves me from having to do that and he plays with it forever!

  • Anna D.

I don’t have a kiddo right now, but I will in a few days…. however, I used to LOVE bath time! I loved playing with all the toys my mom would let me pile in the bathtub. When I go to a baby shower, “bath toys” are my standard gift because I loved it so much!!! I hope my little man will enjoy bath time as much as i did!!!

  • Meghan

My boys’ favorite Christmas toy was Imaginarium train set pieces (we had a small set and Santa augmented it quite a bit). Emmett loves creating new track configurations and Colin loves running trains along them (and knocking them down).

  • Amy

Our 5-month old little mister was beyond thrilled with the wrapping paper alone. Though, he’s quickly getting ino some stacking cups and a musical activity table. My hubby just said, “that pump looks so cool, I’d play with it in the bath, too!” 🙂

  • Laci

My 15month old is an electronics boy, so we got him the leapfrog Chat and Count cell phone (mostly so he’d quit stealing ours!) and it was a HUGE hit. He loves to see the screen animations when he hits the numbers and “calls” grandma. We also looked at the Yookidoo and had planned to get it, but it was a popular toy this year because by the time we placed our Amazon order, it was up to $60 ! So its on the back burner for now

  • Lindsey

My little man’s favorite toy he got for Christmas was his real drum set and mini piano…keep in mind he is 21 months. He looks like little Schroeder from the Peanuts sitting at his piano!

  • Lindsay (YoungMarriedMom)

Our son loved an ocean-themed activity gym my parents gave him to play with when we’re at their house. We kept asking him if he wanted to swim with the fishes (and explained to him how this is different from sleeping with the fishes).

  • Tracy B

My boys got a portable ping pong set and they absolutely love it! They’re becoming like Forest Gump! They’re a little old for this bath toy but my nephew would absolutely LOVE it!

  • Brooke

Our first will not be born till March but he did get a couple of cool toys. I think his favorit will be the sophie giraffe chew toy that he got from my sister.

  • Amy

My 10 month old’s favorite gift this Christmas are his new books that Santa brought him. Story time is our son’s favorite time, next to bath time of course. But i really couldn’t believe how excited a little guy can get for books! Good sign I hope 🙂

  • Deanna

That is such a cool toy, and would definitely be loved by the girls in my house who nearly cry every night when I have to turn off the faucet cuz the tub is full. They just love playing with the water pouring out of the thing!

Not sure either girl had a present really stand out this Christmas, but I sure did! My husband got me a canvas of a print I absolutely adore. Now I can’t wait to get our new house so I can find just the perfect spot to hang it.

  • Ella

My son got a lot of present but his favourite from Santa would have to be his robot. It walks and lights up. Its the only thing he asked santa for so santa had to do a lot of looking for this one!

  • Meagan

My little guy us just a little older than Bean. He got a little electric 4-wheeler and that was by far his favorite gift…and also 2 little Thomas trains. It’s funny the things they latch onto!

  • andrea

AJ asked Santa for a Potato Head and boy did Santa deliver! A giant Mr.Potato Head, with two normal sized and two baby potato heads and a whole bunch of pieces, was waiting for him Christmas morning. (The giant one has a hat that screws off and all the parts fit inside, super cool!) Ryan, loves her weebles and walks around carrying them everywhere she goes. Of course they share, though they aren’t always happy about it! They both also got backpacks (like Bean’s) and they go with us everywhere we go!

  • Meghan

I love reading the posts about Bean’s Christmas presents! It’s giving me great ideas for my little one (Lizzy is almost 4 months) in the future. Lizzy loves her bath, too, so the Yookidoo seems like a fabulous idea!

My little one turned 3 months on Christmas Eve, so I don’t know if she even realized she was getting gifts! We’ve been slowly introducing her toys to her (mainly because some of them take so long to put together!) and so I don’t think it’s fair to say she has a favorite toy yet since she hasn’t gotten to play with all of them. But we have read her all the books she got, and her favorite is definitely “But Not the Hippopotamus” by Sandra Boynton. My husband and I read it together to her – one reads the story and the other yells out “BUT NOT THE HIPPOPOTAMUS” whenever the line appears in the book.

  • Mariya

Annabelle loved the tissue paper most of all, but she also really loves her little Fisher Price kitchen. The melodies really stick in your head!

  • Heidi M

My 17 month old son’s favorite Christmas present this year was his Little People farm. He will sit and open and shut the doors just to hear the animal noises. Oh, and he has to play with it sitting on my lap. Large toy, small lap.

  • Maple

I’m not a Mum yet, but my best friend is pregnant! She said her favourite baby gift this year was that her sister-in-law was able to get her hands on a barely-used Bugaboo stroller for super cheap! I also made her a ‘Bump’s First Christmas’ ornament and she said it comes in a close second.
I would love to be able to give her Nugget a fun bath toy!

  • Sara R.

my 15 month old’s favorite toy this year was this Toy Story 3 dinosaur (Rex) . When you squeeze his tail or open his mouth he goes “RaAaaAaaRR” and there’s a flashlight in his mouth. So fun!

  • Heather Ben

we have a Flow N Fill as well. love it!

FYI – they now stock this at our pottery barn kids. most stuff is cheaper on-line, but PBKs price was actually lower.

  • Katie

Logan’s favorite present this year was a Discovery Channel fake fish tank. He checks on it every 10 minutes and screams with joy every time the turtle comes around! It’s hysterical!

  • Rachel W.

I got my 21 month old a set of Mr. Potato Heads this year (spontaneous purchase from Costco). She LOVES them and we play with them everyday.

  • Andrea M.

Every year growing up my mother got us a new Christmas tree ornament so that we would be able to decorate our own tree someday. This year it was our first Christmas as a family, and I wanted to start that tradition for them as well. My procastination on finding them their first ornament paid off when a friend got super cute ornaments for our twin girls this year!
