Hokey, Hokey, Hokey
When we’re driving in the car, Bean and I listen to the local Christian music station on the radio. It’s good for both of us. Normally, Bean doesn’t sing along. Because it’s a radio station, I think he has a hard time learning the songs. He loves to sing along with his CDs when we listen to those, but he hasn’t really sung along with the radio yet.
Until this weekend.
We were driving down the road and one of my favorite hymns came on. Over and over again the lyrics say, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord.”
From the backseat came this angelic, high pitched little voice.
“Hokey, hokey, hokey…”
I almost wrecked my car because I was laughing so hard. It was the sweetest, most sincere little voice ever.
“Hokey, hokey, hokey…”
When the song ended, I was still giggling at sweet Beanie. And so I asked him, “Bean, can you say Holy Ghost?”
“Hokey Ghost,” he said, so proudly. So clearly.
When we pulled into the parking lot of where we were going, I jumped out of the drivers seat and threw open the back door. I grabbed Bean out of his seat and squeezed him for about 2 minutes right there in the parking lot. My sweet, sweet, sweet Beanie.
I can’t wait to see how the Hokey Ghost works in his little life.

Oh my goodness! I love this! How cute 🙂 I so enjoy it when the little ones get up to sing in church… and having my own singing babies in the backseat is something I look forward to very much 🙂

OMG I Just laughed for like 5 minutes straight. The pictures of Bean are amazing. Every time you post new pictures of him and I scroll down to comment, I am greeted with the picture of you and Bean laughing on the side and I cannot believe how big he is now compared to then. He is such a growing Bean indeed.

That is SO sweet. A couple of months ago Q-Tip was in her booster seat at the table and she started singing something I almost didn’t recognize. And then I realized what it was. She was singing Blessed Assurance. It is my favorite hymn and I’ve sung it to her while rocking her at night since she was a little baby. Apparently she now can sing it herself and it totally amazed me!

I can not WAIT for Zoe to start experiencing God! My friend was telling me this story about how her little 5 year old boy wanted to give some of his money to help this charity. His mom was telling him how God loves a generous heart and how his willingness to give pleased the heart of God. And then she looked in the back and his eyes were full of tears and he said, “Mom I feel the grace of God”. He meant to say “presence”…but they pray for the “grace of God” all the time. Ah! I just can’t wait for stories like this to be a reality in my life =)

So so adorable. What a blessing from God these children are! Keep up the good work. (I wish we had a Christian radio station or K-Love where I live. I can only pick those up when I travel to the city and hour and a half away.)

Oh goodness, that is adorable. I used to teach preschool at a Christian school, and it was so fun to have daily “Jesus Time” with three year olds. Singing songs and learning prayers…so cute.

So sweet (and hysterical)! It’s just one more example of how we all praise God in our own way, and to Him the music is always sweet!
