I.O.U.
Sunday afternoon, Bean had a birthday party to attend at Nickelodeon Studios (another perk of Orlando life – awesome birthday party locations!). Normally, I attend the birthday parties with the kids because… well, Chris’s patience with children other than our own is pretty slim. Which I find ironic because he works in CHILDREN’S THEATER. But, that’s a different issue which probably requires professional therapy, so we’ll just move past that one…
On the day of this particular birthday party, though, I had a lot of things I had to take care of. I had blog posts to write (I’ve started writing them all on weekends and then posting them throughout the week), school papers to grade, and laundry to do. So, I told Chris he was going to have to take one for the team and go to the birthday party. He mumbled and grumbled for a while, but by 2:30, he and Bean were dressed, gifted, and ready to go.
About an hour goes by and I am elbow deep in blog posts and laundry when I get the following text message from Chris…
Yes, imaginary friends. Chris was pied in the face by five year old children.
Multiple times.
Which is why Chris will now be golfing every Saturday for the rest of our married life.

That is HILARIOUS!!! Hopefully he wasn’t the only dad there and not the only one to get a pie in the face. I am sure Bean will remember that day forever and remember how cool his dad is for taking a few pies for his friends. My husband also hates birthday parties and he has never had to take a pie to the face.
