Your Day is Done

Your Day is Done

Today was a busy day.  I was actively on my feet, talking and teaching all day long (as opposed to other teaching days when I am circulating and helping individual students while they work in groups).  By the time I got home, I was tired of talking and walking and smiling and communicating.  But my day was not done.  In fact, it was just getting started. I rushed home to get Bean to his baseball practice by 5:30, which meant we had to grab a quick dinner.  Chris and I…

Atlanta Craziness

Atlanta Craziness

Last week, my mom and I packed the kiddos up in her minivan and escaped to visit my sister in Atlanta for a few days.  I love visiting at Ginny’s house.  She’s such a thoughtful hostess, her home is comfy and cozy, and it’s always a good day when I get to snuggle my niece and nephew! Ginny’s husband, John Michael, was traveling that week and Ginny had to work during the days, so Mom and I were wrangling four kids ourselves. It was pretty chaotic, but a lot of…

Pop Some Popcorn! It’s Vacay Picture Time!

Pop Some Popcorn! It’s Vacay Picture Time!

Oh, imaginary friends.  Come.  Sit on my couch and hold my photo album in your imaginary laps while I explain every single vacation photo to you in detail. There are 428. Seriously.  That’s how many I dumped off my camera today.  But, I am giving you the abridged version on the blog for the next couple of days so that I don’t have to purchase additional server space just to show you 84 pictures of Bean shooting his bow and arrow. But I’m getting ahead of myself… Let’s start at…

Gone a-Visitin.

Gone a-Visitin.

We all had so much fun in Atlanta this weekend. I wanted to spend some time with my sister before her baby arrives this August and before all the pre-baby festivities begin and we are separated forever by diaper cakes, shower games, and mountains of baby blue onesies. Not really. But it was fun to spend some time with her and her hubby all the same. We drove up on Friday after a morning doctors appointment for Gracie (her ears were fine, by the way… she was just cutting four…

MIA

MIA

I’ve had a bit of a rough week. Nothing major, just one of those times when several things come to a head at once. I’m taking two classes right now for my teaching certification, and that has added the equivalent of two college class loads to my plate. Homework is an adjustment. Not to mention school is winding down and so my students seem to be on crack. I can’t get them to settle down, and so my work days are long, exhausting days right now. Add in a few…

Status Update

This post is more of a scheduling pep talk for myself than anything else. In the next week, there are so many major events happening that I can hardly keep myself straight. I get tired whenever I think about it, and then I just want to take a nap until April. But I can’t because I have too much to do. So, I thought I’d make peace with the next couple days by blogging about it to help calm my nerves. Plus, if I’m blogging then I don’t have to…

Christmas #1

Christmas #1

In the wee small hours of Saturday morning, we are loading up and heading out to Atlanta. My family is doing their Christmas together at my sister’s house this weekend. I am super excited. This kicks off a two week Christmas celebration for me and I am definitely looking forward to a little down time. I have been so tired lately! I’m to that point of exhaustion that I was starting to think I was getting sick, but then I realized that I’m just freaking tired! This weekend we are…

Part One: MC in the ATL

Part One: MC in the ATL

This past weekend, Chris and I took the kids up to my sister and brother-in-law’s house in Atlanta to spend some time with them. We had this great idea that we would leave Orlando around dinner time and then drive the majority of the seven hours while the kids were sleeping. Ahhh…what stupid people we are. We didn’t end up leaving Orlando until after 8:00pm on Thursday night. We had a meeting at 9:00 on Friday morning in Atlanta, so instead of deciding to leave the next morning (like normal,…

One Day Weekend Getaway

One Day Weekend Getaway

This past weekend, Bean and I flew to Virginia to spend the weekend with my sister. I haven’t seen her in forever and since my birthday is coming up in December, she sent me and Bean a plane ticket for a one-day weekend getaway! What a great sister! Bean and I flew up Friday after work. Flying alone with a toddler while big and pregnant was…well…not ideal. But Bean was actually a pretty good little trooper. He played and sang songs (did I tell you that he’s singing now?) and…

Mini-Vacation, Mega-Fun: Part One

Mini-Vacation, Mega-Fun: Part One

I had last Friday off for a school holiday and so we took advantage of the three-day weekend by getting out of town.  As much fun as we have and as many things as we try to get out and do, it has been years since Chris and I took a voluntary vacation.  Sure, we go and we do, but most of our travel is tied to a holiday and we usually find ourselves heading to wherever family is.  I really think that we haven’t chosen a destination and planned…
