Beancast: Feed the Bean

We’ve recently started Bean on solid foods.   Its not going great.   Its going better than it was, but its still not going great.   He used to just scream and cry when you fed him.   Now he…well…watch this…

You have SUCH a better attitude than I did! I hated beginning foods for my kids, first because they all spit up, and I did NOT feel like cleaning up orange and green spit up, which would leave stains. Also, it drove me up the wall to spend the time and money on baby food and the actual feeding (not that the feeding took money, sorry, bad sentence) and it just came right back out. So then I waited too long (until spit up phase was done) and they didn’t like any foods at all. This is my kid number three, especially. Grrr. She is now 2 and eats about three things consistently, none of them are fruits or vegetables. You are doing great! To keep trying and to have such a positive attitude with him is wonderful. 🙂

Bean is so adorable!! Watching him the spit food out was hilarious 😀 He made a face like “The hell is this you’re feeding me?!”

Bean is so adorable. It looks like he swallowed a little bit of it! I remember when i started my son Riley on solids at 6 months (we also waited till then) he just got the hang of it straight away and would eat what ever he could. Now he is two and such a fuss pot. He is more interested in playing than eating. Thats the way it goes i guess, im sure he will start eating properly again.

That is so funny. I had trouble with my son taking food as well but Bean is so much funnier (in the adorable way).

My sisters kids took soothers so what she used to do to teach them swallowing food was to put some food into their mouth and then put the soother into their mouth so that they suck the food down. Eventually they no longer need the soother to help them swallow. Not sure if that helps at all.

From the look on his face, you’d think you were abusing him. Better be careful, I think he’s smart enough to call CPS on you for making him eat carrots (my husband doesn’t like it when I make him eat carrots either, I have to blend them up and hide them in the meatloaf).

Totally, totally adorable! And way to rock those teeth, Beanie! We just gave Nate his first piece of fruit yesterday in one of those meshy bags. Holy cow. It was like Christmas came early. Since he could control it (he held the little handle like a champ), he could suck on the cantaloupe all he wanted. It’s his new favorite thing!!!

Nate’s the opposite of Beanie. He loves to eat – and will keep trying something he hates (peas), expecting the next bite to somehow be different. He’s always disappointed when he learns it’s still the same…and then goes for the next bite, forgetting the lesson learned. 🙂

He is so cute. I would like to arrange a future date with my daughter who was born in May. I really don’t know what I’m doing on the baby/mom front, BUT my daycare goddesses said to let the baby suck on the spoon to get the food off…like they would suck on the bottle, only with a spoon. Anyway, it seemed to work and we’re doing pretty well with solids thanks to that technique. It’s crazy…one day they are spitting everything everywhere and the next “poof” they know how to eat. We had the same experience with rolling over…she wasn’t having it and poof now she’s across the room before we know it. It’s all good!

Well he if doesn’t eat his sweet potatoes… in stead of just throwing them away… i heard on Rachael Ray that dogs like sweet potatoes… maybe offer them to your “fur” children 🙂

Bean is so CUTE! I learned in one of my classes to try something at least 29 times before giving up on the food completely. That sounds tiring! Be careful not to giggle at him too much, even though he is REALLY funny…he might start to spit his food out to make you laugh 🙂 I want a baby like Bean.

i love it when he looks at the camera like, “WHAT THE HECK ARE THESE PEOPLE DOING TO ME?! HELP!”

and the fart noises… awesome. you have a natural lil’ comedian on your hands there!

Hahaha, I laughed so hard. Your son is so terribly cute. And I’m glad that you can never get tired of hearing how cute he is because I can’t stop saying it.
