Poesidon in the Bathtub
When I was in college, I was an English literature major and one of my minors was Classics.
So, I studied a lot about Greek mythology and the Roman Empire and types of columns. But mostly, it was the Greek mythology that I liked.
They were weird, strange stories about angry gods who smashed down things with lightning bolts and rode around on horses with wings.
One of my favorite stories was of Poesidon. Not so much because he was a good guy (dude, no means no, P-god…), but because he got around on a golden chariot that could fly through water.
Sometimes during Bean’s baths in his new duck bathtub, I can’t help but think of my Classics courses in college.
And I wonder if its possible that Poesidon, God of the Sea, loved the water any more than Bean Man does…

He does look pretty epic in that tub, there. I can see a short film coming from this. ‘Poseidbean: Prince of the Seas (and duckies)’

Bean is so cute.
We have the pink duck tub for Lily and she loves it. It’s pretty much the first time she’s liked taking a bath.

Bean is adorable!!
How did you get him to love water so much!? My 4 month old sits in his tub like he’s frozen and stare’s at me with pitiful puppydog eyes saying “are we done yet?”
Katie
You know, I have no idea! It might be because we leave him alone in there. I read somewhere one time that babies want to the the only one splashing and playing and that sometimes it can freak them out when other people do it to them. So, Chris and I stopped messing with him too much while he was in there when he was around 4 months old actually and he really started loving it after that. That’s my only advice!! 🙂

If you like Greek mythology and want a quick, light read, you should read the children’s book series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.” I just read the first two, and they’re great. Easy, short, and chock full o’ mythology.

I was an English and Classics major too! Go Liberal Arts!
I really like the tub as well. Rohan is growing out of his; he likes to shimmy down and get everything but his face and tummy under the water level. I’ll pitch this new tub to the husband:)

The duck bathtub is nearly as cute as Bean himself.
