Let’s Make Up

Let’s Make Up

A few weeks ago, Almay sent me a few products to review for them. This could not have come at a better time for me for the following reasons: A) I always switch makeup when the seasons change. My skin changes as I am outside more in the spring/summer months, so my makeup has to change, too. B) I have recently run out of my department store brand makeup, and have been contemplating using makeup that doesn’t require me to hoof it to the mall, but I was worried I…

Christmas Gift Idea: Mary Kay Products

Christmas Gift Idea: Mary Kay Products

When I was about 13 years old, my birthday party was a Mary Kay make over party.  It was so much fun.  A consultant came out and spent the afternoon with about 10 teenage girls doing things like skin care, make up, and perfume samplings.  I remember we each had our own mirror (with lights!) set up on the kitchen table and then we all got to try all the products.  It was a ton of fun.  Since then, Mary Kay has been near and dear to my heart. Well,…

Colors and Artwork and Learning, Oh My!

Colors and Artwork and Learning, Oh My!

We are a Baby Einstein family and I ain’t too proud to say it. We love all things Baby E around our house. Bean’s favorite books right now are two oversized toddler books about colors and nursery rhymes (Pretty Poems and Wonderful Words and Who Lives in the Pond). Our first diaper bag (which was stolen) (jerks) was a Baby Einstein bag. We listen to Baby Einstein CD‘s in the car. We watch Baby Einstein DVD‘s at home. Baby Einstein should set up their headquarters in my house.  It’d save…

Because Its Wednesday and My Brain is Fried.

Because Its Wednesday and My Brain is Fried.

Tonight, Chris and I took Bean Man to one of my favorite places.  Le Cracker Barrel.  As a misplaced Southerner living in New England, Cracker Barrel has provided just the kiss of sweet tea that I sometimes need in my blood stream to survive. They have also provided me with hashbrown casserole.  Thanks be to God. This was all part of Operation Keep Beanie Awake So He Sleeps Through the Night.  And it worked perfectly.  We had such a nice, leisurely dinner just the three of us.  Well, until Chris…

Select Comfort Pillows€¦Yummmy€¦..

A couple months ago, I received a lovely email from Select Comfort asking me if they could send me one of their Memory Foam Contour pillows. Well, yeah. The box modeled here by my lovely sister, Ginny, who is in town this week taking care of me and Chris while we take care of Bean Bag.  Yeah.  She’s awesome.  But not awesome enough for me to share the actual pillow with her.  Only the box. They were going to send me and Chris each a new, soft, pillow on which…

A Contest For Losers

A Contest For Losers

Well, my friends.   I have lost the contest on TheBump.com.   But I did not lose for lack of effort on your part.   In the end, I received over 30,000 votes.   That’s a lot of clickin’!   I was overwhelmed with the support you and your refresh button showed me.   We tried, but sometimes things just don’t work out… …Like that time I was runner up for Homecoming Queen in high school.   (sigh) But never fear!   Your efforts weren’t in vain! When I first…
