If You Give a Boy a Swing Set
If you give a boy a swing set, chances are he’s going to ask for you to turn the sprinklers on so he can swing in the “rain.”
And if the boy gets his clothes wet while swinging with the sprinkler on, then he’s probably going to want to go ahead and play directly in the sprinkler, too. He IS already wet, you know…
And if he’s already wet from the sprinkler, then he might as well put his feet in the pool…
And kick…
And splash his mom and sister…
And if his feet are already in the pool and his clothes are already wet, then he better just go ahead and get in the pool to grab his floating sand bucket. Should only take a minute.
And since he’s already been IN the pool, he might as well grab his goggles and go for a proper swim. After all, he IS already wet because of the sprinkler.
When he’s done swimming, he will realize that the only way to dry himself off so that he can go inside for dinner is to get back on the swing and air dry. But mom will say no. And the boy will pout.
Which is why you should never give a boy a swing set.

I love this post. I am first time boy mom and am finding very quickly that sometimes they will want to get wet and/or dirty and you may as well let them. It looks like he had a great time
